The Beginning

Stefan pulls up to his favorite café in his new shiny red corvette. He steps out smiling, thinking about how good of a day he's had. He woke up early that day knowing he was buying his dream car that he had been saving up for. It was the weekend so he wouldn't be able to show if off at school until Monday. As he was walking up to the door of the café he noticed a half crumpled piece of paper had come in contact to the front of his boot. Most likely swept up from the light breeze outside. He decided to pick it up and had started to read it until he seen from the corner of his eye a girl walking his way. He knew she looked familiar but didn't recognize her enough to know her name. But what he did notice was how beautiful she was. She came up to him looking a little embarrassed and asked "Um, hi can I have that back?"

"Sure…. if you tell me what it is"

"It's a particularly mortifying page from my journal" She stated, slightly cringing thinking about what she had wrote.

"You sensor your journal? I'm pretty sure that's against journal rules" Stefan teased her.

"And I'm pretty sure you're not the journal police" Elena chuckled softly.

"But trust me, it's really bad"

"Ooh now I'm officially intrigued"

"And I'm officially not kidding. Hand it over" Elena said, a little forcefully.

Elena extended her right arm out for Stefan to give her paper back. As Stefan placed her paper back in her hand their fingers grazed each other just for a moment. Both Elena and Stefan felt a jolt course through their bodies. It was almost as if something was drawing the two together. Elena nor Stefan could explain the feeling. All they knew was that it felt good, really good.

"Thank you" Elena whispered softly.

"You're welcome"

They stared at each other for a few moments until Elena finally snapped out of her haze to introduce herself.

"I'm Elena"

"I'm Stefan"

"Well Stefan I should get back to my writing…but thanks again for retrieving my paper"

"No problem. I was actually going to the café to buy some coffee. Let me buy you one."

"Uh, yeah, sure. That would be lovely, let me just grab my stuff."

Elena quickly walked back to the small table she had been sitting at and got her journal and messenger bag. She smiled to herself thinking about how one minute she had been sitting all alone, writing in her journal like she does every day and the next minute she's going to get coffee with a cute guy. She went back over to Stefan holding open the door for her.

She noticed he was smiling hard on that handsome face of his.

Curiously Elena asked "Why are you smiling?"

"Nothing, just having a good day."
