To compensate both stories, I'll be updating both stories one or twice a week, on certain days. I'm very busy outside of writing stories too. Anyways, on with the show!

Gone Missing
Chapter 1
River
"Please stop! You're hurting me! Let go of me, Please!" The woman screamed only to feel the air be forced out of her lungs by a fist to her stomach, "Help me! Someone help me!"
"No one can help, you, we're out in the middle of nowhere! Scream I'll you want to! In fact, I'll join you! Help me! Help!" The person attacking the woman laughed, grabbing a fistful of curly brown hair and slamming the woman's face into the ground, "This will show you, no one plays me for a fool!"
The woman let out a weak groan of pain, trying to get up and crawl away from her attacker. She let out a cry of agony as she felt a boot covered foot smash into her back, knocking her down to the ground again, breaking bones and damaging vital organs. Rough hands grabbed her hair and then her head was smashed several times into the ground. The force of the impact had her ears ringing, the pain coming ahead as she felt something crack deep inside of her head The woman was flipped on her back and made to face her attacker with hazy blue eyes. She coughed out a mouthful of blood and whimpered, "Please…have mercy on me…no more..."
"You should have thought about the consequences," The woman's attacker said before they took out a large serrated hunting knife, "Now, you'll pay, in spades…."
"Please don't do this-" The woman croaked before her attacker sunk the blade deep into her stomach.
The woman couldn't even scream out, all she could do was choke on the blood that flooded her throat and convulse on the ground. She felt the blade slide out of her flesh and then the man was picking her up, dropping her onto a plastic tarp and wrapping her up in it. She felt her body be lifted and carried over to somewhere. She could hear something loud, like water crashing onto something, where in the hell was she? She felt her attacker lift her onto something rough and then she felt something be tied to her feet and around her body.
"No one is going to find you," Her attacker whispered, before rolling her body off the rough surface.
The woman felt as though she was flying, for a moment, before reality came back and she fell into icy cold waters. The water's current pulled her under the moment she hit the water and the rush of the river had her going down it quickly. Just before the shock of her beating, stabbing came over her, the woman smiled weakly to herself and thought, 'Now who's the fool?" before she blacked out.

"This will be good for you, my dear," A woman's bright and bubbly voice said, "The fresh air and the beautiful views, it'll clear your mind from all those heavy thoughts, enjoy the winter season there, and call me if you need anything, anything at all!"
Heidi let out a sound, listening to her friend's message as she idled her all terrain vehicle through the wooded area. Of course her friend would say something like that. It was something everyone around her was saying to her.
"Heidi, it's not safe for you to be down like this…think about your health!"
"Heidi go take some time off, you need to deal with this and soon."
"Heidi, he wouldn't want to see you like this and you know it."
Heidi gripped the steering wheel tightly, looking through the windshield and trying to prevent the tears from leaving her eyes. She let out a hiccup and then pulled over on the side of the road. She turned the car off, leaned back in her seat and let out a loud sob, covering her face, her body shaking with each sob that tore from her chest. The thoughts were rushing to the front of her mind and she didn't like them at all, it had her thinking of things she tried to hide, things she wanted to forget about.
Heidi would have fallen into hysterics, if it wasn't for the soft whine and a cold wet nose to her cheek. She felt a tongue snake out and lick gently at her, making her lower her hands and turn to look at the culprit.
A one year old German Shepard sat in the back of the car, looking at her and whining again, shuffling from her perch, as if they could feel her emotions. Heidi gave the puppy a weak smile and said, "Don't worry, Daisy, I'm fine now, come on, let's get back on the road, we'll be at our destination soon."
Daisy gave Heidi a bark and licked her again, earning a soft chuckle from the woman and an affection head rub. Heidi started her vehicle up again and then made her way down the road. She wiped at her tears and turned the radio on to soft jazz music. She looked outside the window and said to the dog in the back of the car, "We might get snow before we arrive at the place, how about a nice evening walk in the snow?"
The dog in the car let out a yelp of agreement, her tail wagging and her ears perked up. Heidi smiled and said, "I knew you'd like that, Miss. One track mind…."

"They won't ever find you, I promise you that," The person said as they burned their clothes in an empty metal barrel, "I made sure of that, they'll never find you and the last thing you'll ever think of is the fact that you fucked with the wrong person."
The person smiled darkly and wiped their bloodied knife with a rag before tossing the rag into the fire. The person let out a yawn and stretched their limbs thinking about all the luck they had with this situation. It had been hell to track that bitch's schedule, but when they had it down, they struck, with a vengeance. With any luck the bitch's friends wouldn't come looking for her for at least four days, since she wrote down that she was going out of town to visit some college friends. When they find out that the bitch is gone, It would be too late, she would be dead and gone for five days.
The person smirked in the darkness, before heading to their truck, getting in and heading back home, they deserved a nice drink to celebrate the actions they've done.

Heidi let out a giggle as Daisy went flying past her, chasing after snowflakes, jumping in the air and nipping at the frozen falling flakes. Heidi snuggled deeper into her coat and took a look around the area. Her destination had been a cabin that was deep in the woods. It was close to the ends of a river and the views of the mountains were stellar. It was a two story cabin with all high end products and the like and windows that went from the floor to ceiling, to let in the sunlight and views. It was a beautiful home and the small town close to it was a whopping 30 miles away.
Heidi let out a sound, walking back into the cabin and making herself a cup of tea, Daisy making her way past the woman and entering the house as soon as Heidi opened the door. She looked around at the boxes that had been brought up here before she arrived and huffed in agitation. She would be spending the first few days here unpacking her things and settling in. She would be here until the summer after all and it was just the beginning of November, she had packed seven months' worth of her life in these boxes.
Heidi placed the herbal tea bag into her cup and poured hot water over it. She closed her eyes, turning away from the boxes and placed her elbows on the granite counters that were in the kitchen. In a few weeks it would be the 1st anniversary of something she didn't want to remember. She hadn't wanted to be reminded of the time, so she packed her house up and went as far as she could away from the memories.
Heidi dumped three spoonfuls of sugar in her tea and sipped it in silence, only looking up when Daisy came barreling through the house, barking furiously. Heidi sat up as the dog ran over to Heidi and barked again, looking anxious. Heidi placed her mug down and asked, "Daisy, what's wrong?"
Heidi looked over to the door and jumped, seeing a person looking in through the window, waving at her and giving her a smile. Heidi sighed and said, "Calm down Daisy, does he look bad?"
Daisy went silent for a moment and then trotted over to the door. Heidi followed the dog over to the door and opened it saying, "Yes?"
The person that stood before Heidi was a man, a man with short blond hair, sharp green eyes and a tall built frame that was covered in a flannel shirt, a white t-shirt, a pair of faded jeans and a pair of boots. He had a rugged mountain man look going for him, with an unkempt beard and the choice of clothes, but he was all smiles and the like when he laid eyes on Heidi.
"Hey, uh…you just moved in here?" The man asked, earning a soft head nod from the woman, "Oh, okay, I saw your car and I wanted to introduce myself to my new neighbor. The name's Diesel."
"Heidi," Heidi said as she held her hand out for Diesel to take, "Nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you too," Diesel said, with a crooked smile, tucking his hands in his pockets, "Look, I live down the same road as you, about half a mile away, so, if you ever need anything, don't hesitate to come and ask me, okay? The town is 30 miles away and we're the only two up here."
"Oh thank you so much," Heidi said with a smile, before she said, "Would you like to come in? I made some hot water for tea."
"Oh, I should be going," Diesel said, shrugging his shoulders, "I have my dinner in the oven and I don't want to burn my house down."
Diesel gave Heidi a piece of paper and said, "I wrote my number down on here, so, if you need anything, call me, I'm here on vacation, I live here, but I'm rarely at home, so, see you later?"
"Yeah," Heidi said, as the man, turned to climb down the stairs, "Thank you, Diesel, for the hospitality."
"No problem, have a good night," Diesel said, with a smile, before heading off down the road.
Heidi turned to Daisy, who sat on the porch, looking out into the night, "What a nice man, Daisy, can't believe he's our neighbor, I think-"
Heidi blinked as Daisy took off like a rocket, running through the backyard and down to the river. Heidi grabbed her coat and followed the puppy quickly, running across the yard and stopping short at what she saw.
Daisy was pulling at something that was floating down the river and no matter how much Heidi yelled at the dog, she wasn't stopping and was only tiring herself out. The puppy would never get it out on her own, at the rate she was going, and it looked big, from the way the porch lights shown down at the river. Heidi took off her coat and shoes and climbed into the river, yelping at the icy cold that hit her. The river wasn't that deep and it was calm here, it reached her thighs but it still made for a cold journey. Heidi quickly made her way to the item that was floating and grabbed it. When she grabbed it, she pulled it to the shore, with Daisy's help and asked the puppy, "Daisy what in the hell did you find? It's so heavy, wait, is this a weight?"
Heidi untied the coarse rope wrapped around the item and pulled the heavy weight away from the tarp covered item She began to unwrap the plastic tarp and when she finally unwrapped it, she let out a scream of horror at what she found.
There, laying in the plastic wrap was a person, a woman to be exact, covered in bruises and injuries, with a severe stab wound on her stomach. From the coloration of the body, Heidi believed the woman dead and so she checked to see if she was dead. Heidi placed shaking fingers on the throat of the woman's body and let out a sound, feeling a weak erratic pulse. Heidi ran over to her coat, grabbed it and tossed it over the woman's body. She grabbed the edges of the tarp and whispered a quick, "I'm so sorry for this," before dragging the tarp across the yard, with the woman on top of it. Heidi gently eased the woman up the small flight of stairs and then dragged her into the house, closing the door and locking it.
"Who in the hell did this to you?" Heidi asked softly, looking down at the still form, "Who would do this to a human being?"

"Have you seen Stephanie?"
That was one question Carlos Manoso wasn't ready for on a Tuesday morning. He had spent the majority of the weekend and Monday at Rangeman Miami, dealing with a high profile client and had just come back from dealing with that hassle. He hadn't been back in Trenton for more than an hour when he got the call from Lula, one of Stephanie's friend.
"Stephanie went out of town, to meet some of her college friends," Lula had told him, her voice carrying the worry she felt, "But, according to Grandma Mazur, she ain't never made it to the place, her friends called her parents and told them that she didn't make it. I went to her apartment and tried to see if she was home, but I didn't get an answer. Her car is there and shit, since she told me that she would take the train up, but I don't think she's there. I was wondering if you knew where she was. It ain't like Steph to disappear on us like that."
Carlos had ended the call after that and got up and began to bark orders to his core team about looking up Stephanie's trackers and the like. When Lester told him that most of the trackers were either in Stephanie's apartment or dead, a sense of dread filled Carlos. Carlos and Tank made their way to Stephanie's apartment and let themselves in. When they did a check on the apartment they found nothing odd about it. No signs of a struggle no blood no upturned furniture. Her hamster, Rex, was at her parent's house and the kitchen was clean, the living room clean, her bedroom clean, everything was in place.
That had Carlos on the edge. To find nothing out of place meant that Stephanie had left the place before vanishing.
"Tank, get the core team together and then contact Trenton PD," Carlos said, turning to the hulking man beside him, "It's been four days and no contact, something's happened to Stephanie."
