A: N- A drabble I wrote for English about Greg's mentality after the explosion. I hope you enjoy it.
It was different, he found himself admitting when he walked into the lab that day. It was so very different. He wouldn't think for a second that maybe it was he, himself, who had changed. No, Greg would never go as far as to think that. He hated the weakness that came with the deep fear that spiked in his heart the moment he walked into his lab. He hated how his hands always shook. He hated it even more when Grissom called him out on it. He knew that the supervisor was just concerned, but it still left him ashamed. Hodges made horrible comments that made his shaking hands clentch into fists. There was a stain the the white lab coat. Nick had asked him why he kept it there. Greg would never really tell him the truth. He could never seem to find the words to tell the Texan that he kept it there as a reminder of his weakness. He hated how he had to keep a reminder. Catherine commented once on how there was no more heavy metal rock music that filled the hallways. Sarah kept on looking at him with worry coating her brown eyes whenever she had to ask him about trace. Still, to this day, Greg found himself hating the weakness that filled his every being when he walking into the lab and unconsciously hid his shaking hands in his brown suit jacket that held his brand new CSI vest. He hated the way he flinched at the remembrance of the explosion that had left its mark more mentally than physically. He still had nightmares about it, and it left his head pounding. Nick only called him out on it once or twice. He mentioned how Greg wasn't so cheerful anymore, he mentioned how he thought Greg shouldn't even be a CSI with the way it was affecting him. But Greg couldn't bring himself to care. There was nothing that would make him enter that lab again other than this job. He thanked Mandy, who had just given him the trace, and left the lab, unconsciously walking on the far side of the hallway, as far away from the lab he could get.
