I am writing this with kandygirl158.

I sat in my room writing an essay for my AP English class. It was about Shakespeare's Hamlet, and I had no idea how to make an introduction. I sat staring out the window, in which my desk was positioned in front of. It was then I realized my phone was vibrating.

"Hello?"

"Hey Nessie!" It was Jake! I hadn't heard from him in around two days. I was so happy!

"Oh hey Jake!"

"That's a lot of enthusiasm!" He chuckled. "Actually, I wanted to ask you something." He hesitated.

I froze.

"Um, is your dad there?"

Why did he want to talk to my dad?

"Well, he is, but he and mom are at their house...I'm with the rest of the family right now at the main house...so you probably don't want to disturb them." I cringed at the thought of what they were doing. I know their married and all, but they're still my parents.

"Yeah, well never mind about that. Do you think it'll be alright if you go somewhere?"

I had homework, but I was not about to turn down time with my Jake.

"Yeah! It will be cool with him."

"Okay...well see, there's a bonfire tonight, and your birthday is coming up, so I was kind of thinking it could be part of your birthday present."

I didn't even realize my birthday was almost here. It was only my sixth birthday, but I looked to be around fourteen.

"Sure Jake! I'll come with you."

He chuckled. "Okay I'll come pick you up in about ten minutes. Bye Nessie."

"Bye Jake!"

He hung up, and I realized I hadn't asked anybody if I could go. I decided to call my dad's phone.

There was no answer, and I didn't want to leave a message, so I called my mom's number. No answer there either. Frustrated, I called my Aunt Alice into my room.

"Hey Ness! Need help with something?" She asked as she danced into my room.

"Well, actually, Jake asked me to go to a bonfire tonight, and mom and dad won't answer their phones. Also I need help picking out an outfit."

"Yay! Your first date Nessie!" First date?

"When will he be here?"

"Um, he said he'll be here in about ten minutes, but that was five minutes ago.

"Five minutes? Why didn't you call me sooner?" She practically screamed.

"Well, I was trying to get in touch with mom and dad."

"Never mind. Now come on!"

She picked out a glamorous dress. I had to remind her we were going to a bonfire, but I finally convinced her to let me wear jeans, and a brown blouse, that complemented my eyes. They both had designer tags though. She made me wear high heels, and let my hair down around my face.

"Aunt Alice, are you sure my parents are going to be okay with this?" I asked worried. My mom never had a problem with me going with Jacob, but my dad usually did.

"If they come back over here while you're gone, I'll explain it to them." She told me.

"Thanks Aunt Alice! You're the best!" I said to her as I gave her a hug.

"You know it!" She told me.

I giggled, but we both went downstairs when we heard an engine.

"Bye Nessie have fun!" Alice called to me as I stepped out the door.

Jake was waiting for me on his motorcycle. "I figured this was a special occasion, and we should ride on the motorcycle." He handed me a helmet, and told me to hold on, which I did, and we were off.

I couldn't wait for my very first bonfire. I would get to her all the Quileute legends. I was so excited about hearing them especially with my Jake.
