Stardom
A Sly Cooper fanfiction By CutelittleMouseygirl
The young foxcoon tossed her long, curly, dark hair over her shoulder. She sighed and looked up form her math sheet.
"Wouldn't it be great if we were famous for something WE did, not our parents?" She wondered aloud. The foxcoon's name was Scoot-Along Maria Cooper and she was the daughter of Sly Cooper and Carmelita Fox. She was famous at school because her father was a world famous master thief, and her mother was Interpol's best officer. She liked being called Scoot.
One of the five kids at the table, a turtle/mouse hybrid named Autumn, looked up from her homework. Autumn was in ALL the challenge classes at school and she NEVER complained about her homework. Her mother was Penelope the Mouse and her father was Bentley the Turtle. Autumn had broken her left leg baldy when she was three, and now she had a slight limp, but it didn't hurt her abilities any. She looked at her friend with big, sea-blue eyes.
"I suppose… but what can we do? We're not exactly Alvin and the Chipmunks," Autumn paused to adjust her glasses on her mousey nose, "I mean, we don't have any special skills as far as I know, and I'm ALWAYS the one to know about stuff. Also…" A loud crash followed by the tinkling of broken glass interrupted the lecture. The youngest member of the group, Ming King, a hippo/panda hybrid jumped up.
"Oh, Crash!" She cried as she rushed out of the room. As Autumn left the room with Ming, Scoot murmered to herself with a smirk,
"Thank you, Crash!"
Crash was really Xing (Zing) King. When he had been younger, he'd had a tricycle that he was an expert at crashing into stuff with. His father, Murray Hippo, had started calling the boy "The Crash King" which had been shortened to "Crash" as he got older. Either way, Crash had err… Crashed into something on a rampage of some sort. Only two members of the group remained in the room.
Mara King and Connor Cooper. Mara was Ming and Crash's older sister and Connor was Scoot's twin brother. Mara was busy working on her homework on gravity.
"Gravity is what allows Crash to run into something and get hurt." She read aloud as she wrote. "There… I think that makes sense. What do you think, Connor?" The foxcoon looked worried.
"Did you even bother to pay attention to the lesson?" He wondered, doubting it. Scoot and Mara weren't big on paying attention in class.
"There was a lesson?" Yep. Connor was right about his sister's friend. The foxcoon rolled his eyes, but a familiar sound made him freeze. The wailing of police sirens was a warning to all thieves to get out quick!
Scoot in the kitchen was getting some ice for Crash's head that he'd bumped against whatever he'd ran into. She sang quietly to herself as she rummaged through the freezer.
"We're the kids of America… we're the kids of America, Everybody live for the music go 'round!" Autumn stared at Scoot, noting how each note of the song was being hit right on by the young girl's voice. The turtle-mouse tried to sing along, and found that she could do so easily. Mara walked in and joined in, it sounded amazing. The girls finished the song and looked at eachother.
"Wow! You're sure we're not Alvin and The Chipmunks? Cuz that was pretty good! Let's show dad!" Scoot was only able to talk in an excited fangirl tone. She then ran off, her midnight blue shoes thunking loudly on the ground. She ran into Connor on the way.
"Connor did ya here us? We are sooo gonna make it to the big time!" Scoot noted her brother's worried expression. "Uh-oh… what's wrong?"
"I think we'd better get out of here soon"
"Huh?" Scoot's face darkened as she heard the sirens outside the Safe House door.
