Author's Note: This is based from Professor McGonagall's quote in OOTP - "I shall be writing to Augusta. Just because she didn't pass OWL charms doesn't mean the subject is entirely useless."

A Little Cham

Augusta Longbottom never passed her Charms OWL, and spent many times wishing she had passed it.

When she married, she wished she had a charm to make her less nervous.

When she was pregnant, she wished she had a charm to take away the sickness and the nasuea.

When she gave birth, she wished she could charm away the pain.

As her son grew up, she wished she could charm him - make him stay young, and eternally with her.

When her husband died halfway through their son's schooling, she wished she could cast a charm to bring him back.

Frank graduated. And his mother wished once more for a charm that would keep him young.

He entered Auror training, and she wished she could charm some sense into him and warn him off such a dangerous job.

Soon he was seeing Alice - a girl he'd been friends with at Hogwarts, and was currently on his Auror training. She wanted to charm the girl away - no-one took her son away from her.

Then Augusta grew to love Alice, and she wanted to charm away the people who said Alice was an air-head.

When they got married, she needed a charm for the excessive flow of tears.

When her first grandchild - a boy - was born, the tears reappeared.

A year later, Frank and Alice were caught by death eaters. Tortured. Augusta wanted a charm to find these death eaters and kill them for what they'd done to her family.

She wanted a charm to fix Alice and Frank.

A charm to take away the pain little Neville felt when he visited his parents.

A charm to go back in time and pass that damned Charms exam.
