Genre: Family/Drama
Rating: T for language, violence and safety.
Author's Note: This is the sequel to Imaginary Reality, book two in the Reality Duology, as many people asked for a sequel. It takes place immediately following the events of the Epilogue in Imaginary Reality but after the Battle with the Ssi Ruuk. Once again it is VERY AU because I know what happened in SotE and many, I mean MANY, of the events that happen don't happen in canon. Also some of the newer characters might be out of character but that's only because I couldn't find enough info on them. Reviews are much appreciated and I hope that you enjoy the story.
Disclaimer- I do not own Star Wars nor will I ever, George Lucas does and I am only saying this once and I will not repeat it in future chapters and I also don't own Linkin Park.
Forgotten Reality
Prologue
Desired Vengeance
He was floating.
He didn't know where he was and he didn't remember much about what had happened to him. The last thing he remember was attempting to track down and kill Skywalker but he made a fatal error, in uttering Skywalker's name when Vader was within earshot and…
Prince Xizor's eyes shot open as the memories surged through his brain again, reminding him of what had happened one year ago on the Falleen's Fist over the city-planet of Coruscant. Vader. The damn second in command to the Empire, the Emperor's right hand man, and the man that had thwarted Xizor's plans to kill Skywalker.
Vader had warned him away from Skywalker, Xizor remembered that and yet he, foolishly, still went after him. What he didn't know at the time was that the Emperor was away overseeing the construction of the second Death Star, leaving Vader in command of Coruscant.
And Vader was there when Xizor attacked the Millennium Falcon and stupidly said Skywalker's name.
Xizor was only lucky he had escaped the destruction of the Falleen's Fist by making a secret jump to hyperspace in his ship, the Virago. Unfortunately, his ship had been damaged when the skyhook was destroyed and one of the consoles that was damaged was his navicomputer. He was unable to program a place to exit hyperspace but he was lucky his hyperdrive didn't go out and that he didn't fly straight into a sun or a star.
Unfortunately, however, Xizor did end up finding himself exiting hyperspace in unknown territory. He, even now, wasn't sure as to how he made it across the galaxy without knowing it and he had a feeling he managed to get into a hyperspace lane that led him straight into the unknown territory.
Unfortunately, however, was what happened after he exited hyperspace.
The Virago had been badly damaged, more damaged than the Falleen prince had thought, and Xizor lost control of it. He ended up crashing on an unrecognizable planet and then there was nothing.
Until now.
Now Xizor realized that he was in a bacta tank, surrounded on all sides by unfamiliar equipment and strange aliens walking back and forth around the tank. Xizor has seen many aliens during his life as head of the Black Sun Criminal Organization and yet these aliens were a mystery to him.
They looked like humans aside from the gleaming black hair, blue skin and the glowing red eyes and Xizor frowned slightly. He never thought he'd find himself here but he didn't remember anything after crash landing on that planet. He figured he was still on the planet he had crash landed on though why he was in a bacta tank when he knew at least a year had gone by, he didn't know.
As if on cue, the blue skinned alien walked over to the bacta tank, examined him for a moment before murmuring something to a nearby alien and the alien nodded before pressing a button the console and Xizor felt the bacta drain out.
After that, he must have blacked out for the next thing he remember was he was being placed on a medical bed with a blue skinned alien examining him again and murmuring something in his own language, a language that Xizor has never heard before. The blue skinned alien glanced at him as the Falleen Prince blinked his eyes a few times.
"Good, you are awake," the alien said in Basic though Xizor noticed his basic was heavily accented.
"Where am I?" Xizor asked.
"Csilla," the alien said.
"Where?"
"Just inside the Unknown Regions," another coolly calculated voice sounded and Xizor glanced up as a blue skinned alien walked forward to join them. This one was different from the others though his hair, eyes and skin were the same. The white Grand Admiral uniform that he was wearing was what caused Xizor to narrow his eyes.
But Palpatine detests non-Humans, he thought.
"Who are you? What are you?" he asked.
The alien tipped his head to one side ever so slightly, his scarlet eyes narrowing. "My full name is Mitth'raw'nuruodo but, as that is probably too hard for you to pronounce, you may call me Thrawn."
Xizor felt that he's heard that name before but he figured he was just imagining things though he was curious about the white Grand Admiral uniform the alien was wearing. Thrawn seemed to have noticed he was looking for a thin smile crossed his facial features.
"You are from the Empire, are you not?" he asked, his Basic wasn't as heavily accented as the medical alien that had first spoken to Xizor when he woke up but it was still accented.
"You could say that," Xizor said keeping his answers as vague as possible. In truth, he wasn't apart of the Empire because his organization was a criminal one and he just happened to be living in the Empire, on Coruscant before his expensive palace blew up.
Thrawn narrowed his eyes. "Are you with the Empire or are you not?" he asked, his voice was still cool and in control but his eyes held an edge that told Xizor that he wasn't in the mood for vague answers.
"Not technically," the Fallen Prince replied. "I am actually apart of an organization that lies within the Empire."
The alien nodded once in reply, his eyes still narrowed. "What is your name?" he asked.
Xizor hesitated for a split second. "Prince Xizor," he said finally.
"I see," the alien paused for a long moment before he glanced at the alien that had first spoken to Xizor and he said something in his own language. The other alien replied in his language before he made his way out of the medbay and Thrawn turned his attention to Xizor.
"Do you know Emperor Palpatine?" Xizor asked, he kept his voice under control though he could see by the look on Thrawn's face that he was waiting for that question as if he knew the Falleen Prince was going to ask that.
"Yes, he recruited me to the Imperial Starfleet after I helped him deal with someone," Thrawn replied.
"Why would he do that?" Xizor asked though he noticed a brief flare of anger cross the alien's facial features but it disappeared almost as soon as it appeared and the Falleen Prince had a feeling Thrawn wasn't going to answer him.
"I came back to Csilla after I spoke with Palpatine and he told me to leave the Empire for now. He said that I would know when it was time for me to return," he said instead of answering Xizor's question.
"And how would you know when to return?"
A cold thin smiled crossed his facial features. "He said it wasn't likely I would ever return to the Empire because he said the day he died was the day I was supposed to return. He had altered the plans he had given me first two years ago so I came back here. Then, not even a year later, your ship crash lands on Csilla," he said.
Xizor snorted as he rested his head on the back of the medical bed. The bed was oddly shaped, probably perfect for this alien, but Xizor made the most of it. He figured he was this alien's prisoner so he may as well not attempt to antagonize him especially since he appeared to be a warrior of some sort.
A moment later, before Xizor could say anything in reply to Thrawn's statement, another alien came in and muttered something to Thrawn. Thrawn glanced sharply at him before saying something in his own language, something that the Falleen Prince assumed was a question. The alien nodded once in reply and Thrawn nodded before turning his attention back to the Falleen Prince.
"It would appear I will have to leave this planet soon before the Chiss Ascendancy comes here," he said.
"Where are you going?" Xizor asked curious in spite of his predicament.
Another cool smile crossed Thrawn's facial features. "Back to the Empire," he said.
"But I thought you said that you could not return unless the Emperor was dead."
Thrawn shrugged. "The Chiss does have a holovision and my good friend has just learned that the Emperor is dead, killed in the explosion of the second Death Star above the forest moon of Endor," he said.
Xizor frowned. The Emperor was dead? he thought before scowling inwardly. Well, there go all my chances of getting the Emperor's favor instead of that blasted…Vader? A question formed in the Falleen Prince's mind and he looked at Thrawn. "Do you know if the Lord Darth Vader is still alive?" he asked.
"The holovision says that the Lord Darth Vader went missing during the Battle of Endor," Thrawn said.
A small smile crossed Xizor's facial features. Perfect, whether or not Vader is alive, I can get my revenge on both Vader and Skywalker, he thought before frowning. But how? Then he looked at Thrawn who was still examining him curiously and another plan formed in his mind, it was a long shot but Xizor could make it work.
"May I come with you?" he asked. "I may prove to be useful to you."
"Indeed you are useful, I pulled up your records before we put you into the bacta tank," Thrawn said. "It would appear that the remnants of the Empire are fleeing but I think both of us can unite them and take the galaxy back, bring back the Empire."
Xizor smiled. "Yes, bring back the Empire," he agreed though his plans were much more complicated than Thrawn's. Sure he wanted to help Thrawn but only to get on his good side and find a way to get to Skywalker and Vader, get his revenge on the two pesky nuisances that even the Emperor couldn't get rid of. Xizor desired vengeance against Skywalker and Vader and he would do whatever he must to get it.
A/n what do you think?
Blaze: yeah, I know
Darth: know what?
Blaze: Two things
Anakin: one is that she knows Thrawn doesn't come into the picture until later on in canon but that's why it's AU
Luke: and two, she knows Xizor and Thrawn sounded a bit out of character in this chapter but it'll be different later on in the story, hopefully
Tigerstar: and thirdly, Leia and Han are going to…
Blaze: NOOOOO! (Slices Tigerstar in half before pushing him off a cliff into a hole filled with water and piranhas and sealing the hole with a huge boulder that has spikes at the end facing inside the hole)
Tigerstar: that was mean….mean
Blaze: what's with the echo?
Tigerstar: it's not my fault…my fault
Blaze: sure
Tigerstar: it's your fault for putting me in here…in here
Blaze: hahahaha
Tigerstar don't turn your back on me, I won't be ignored….be ignored
Blaze: It's like no matter what I do, I can't convince you, for once just to hear me out
Tigerstar: Face away, and pretend that I'm not but I'll be here 'cause you're all that I got…I got
Blaze: I can't faint, the way I did before, don't turn your back on me, I won't be ignored
Darth: okay?
Blaze: sorry, I was listening to that song. Please review and I'll post chapter 1 as soon as I possibly can if its' not already posted, which it might or might not be. And if anyone can find out what song those scattered lyrics above are from, I'll give them a virtual Palpypie Voodoo doll and a virtual lightsaber.
