SPOILERS FOR THOSE OF YOU NOT FINISHED WITH THE BOOK
I wrote this a while ago, after I had read the book "Blood and Chocolate" for the first time. It's from the point of view of the main girl (forgot her name. As I said, it's been a while) talking to this human boy. Through the poem, she makes peace with his decision.
Take the last tear
And make it disappear.
It just won't go away,
I think it's here to stay.
Why did you have to go?
I used to love you so.
I'd lie awake at night,
Think of you until the light.
Why did you leave me here?
You know that's what I fear.
A world with out your love
Is something I won't think of.
With no light to guide my way
I stumble every day.
Without you here with me,
I'm lonely as can be.
I loved you with all my might,
Why was it such a fright
When I showed you what I was?
If you were scared, was it because
I'm different than I seem?
I'm something from a dream.
But I guess that I was wrong.
You fear my howl, my song.
Why is it you can't see?
How wonderful I can be?
If you don't know the story, I'll summarize. The werewolf girl falls in love with a human boy interested in the occult. They start dating, and she chooses to show him her transformation, thinking he'd get a kick out of it. He freaks, she feels rejected, and later she realizes that humans and werewolves just weren't meant to mix.
Of course, the book is so much more than that, but that's all that's really needed to understand the poem. It's a very good book, I encourage anyone interested in werewolves or misfit stories to check it out ; )
