Hardship
His leadership is was keeps them together,
But what happens when the leader falls apart?
Her fearless smile and confidence glows.
More warrior than girl,
When she was the one who was the most scared all along.
Shielding himself from the pelting rain,
His mask of humor and sarcasm,
Makes him forget that he's living in a nightmare.
Alone in such a strange world,
A wall of distance separating him from belonging.
Nothing more than a stray child,
Lost in a big city.
Not human yet not hawk.
Not hawk yet not alien.
Living in an escape,
From everything that went wrong.
She longed to be something else yet more.
Sick of facing day as what she was,
She changed for him and let go of the past.
Debating right and wrong,
Truth and falsehood.
Keeping sanity,
She was the only thing that was holding him together.
Banished to his thoughts,
On a rock in the wide ocean.
Because to him they didn't understand,
How it felt to be ripped away from those you hold dear.
Still he wonders how he will survive,
With such words and lies escaping uncontrollably,
Without telling his own brother that he loves him.
Memories are just pictures and sounds,
He is haunted by day after day.
Living in remorse,
Lost without a soul.
A/n: Just a short poem/descriptive piece I felt like writing. See if you can match the paragraph to the character.
