Smoke began to fill the air as the last of many fiery arrows landed on the splintered ship and began to slowly burn. Choked sobs could be heard from all around mourning for the loss of the beloved chief of Berk, Stoick The Vast.

Hiccup was still tightly clutching the bow he had shot his arrow with saying his farewells to his father when Jack appeared beside him.

"He was really proud of you Hiccup." Jack said softly taking the bow from Hiccups grasp.

"What am I going to do without him Jack? I don't know how I'm going to take care of Berk all by myself, I didn't even want to be chief before this." Hiccup sighed.

"Why do you always think that you have to do everything by yourself Hic? Don't you understand that you have a mother that loves you, friends that adore you, a dragon that will do anything for you, people that follow and look up to you…you have me." Jack said taking Hiccups face into his hands.

"Jack I know all that I'm just so afraid to mess up." Hiccup said blushing.

At that moment Jack took the chance to lightly kiss Hiccup, the kiss didn't last long much to Hiccup's disappointment.

"You don't need to worry Hic, you have everyone to help you… you have me." Jack said leaning in to give Hiccup a longer more meaningful kiss.

"You're not alone in this." Jack sighed hugging Hiccup tightly.

A full month went by and Hiccup was working harder than he ever had in his whole life but it was ok since Jack was there to help him.

Hiccup had just gotten home and was about to start a fire when Jack came in.

"Hey Hic just thought I'd stop by and see how you were doing." Jack said.

"Oh really Jack, is that all you wanted to talk about?" Hiccup asked with a small blush.

"Yes. No. Hic I know we work together all day and trust me I love working with you and all, but we never get time alone anymore. I swear its driving me crazy." Jack pouted.

Hiccup stood up to look at Jack and started laughing at how funny Jack looked standing there with pleading eyes and running his hands through his hair.

"All you had to do was ask Jack, I'm not really that busy." Hiccup laughed.

"Yea right Hic, you and I both know that's a lie" Jack said.

"Alright Jack, how about we head up to my room for some time alone would that make up for it?" Hiccup asked.

"Could be a start." Jack smirked
