It was just an ordinary sixth year charms class, a day of note taking. These days didn't occur often, usually Charms was hands-on work. But every once and a while, the day would present itself, and the students of Hogwarts would have to deal with it.

Usually, Harry, Ron, and Hermione sat together at a table, but unfortunately, Harry was out with a bad bout of something called the "post quiddich jitters." All that meant was, that after playing a match in the rain for two hours, sometimes a player would catch the P.Q.J. and get icy hot flashes and find the need to throw up every hour.

Nevertheless, Harry was still up in Gryffindor tower, and Ron and Hermione were sharing a table in the back of the charms room.

Earlier in the week, Ron and Hermione had been studying in the library, when the conversation came to a crashing halt. It wasn't a bad silence, but it was definitely a silence.

All Ron could think of were those piercing brown eyes as they stared intently back into his deep blue ones. Slowly, they felt an amazing connection. It was hard to explain, but it was a deep connection, and both students knew that they were indeed in love.

Harry had been dropping bombs about the fact for weeks, but the two never really realized it before. As quickly as the connection was made, the bell rang, and their break was over.

Hermione had to get to Ancient Runes and Ron had quiddich practice. Ron hurried out of the library, muttering something about Harry getting his head blown off.

Hermione stood there, flabbergasted, with a goofy smile on her face. She strolled through the halls in almost a trance, causing herself to be 5 minutes late for Ancient Runes, something no one would have ever suspected from Hermione Granger.

But now, in Charms, it was the first time Ron and Hermione have been alone together since the connection, Truth be told, it was a little awkward. As they tried to listen to Professor Flitwick, their eyes kept meeting and being cast downward. Finally, their eyes met and Hermione felt a flutter in her stomach. They smiled a little and Hermione shifted in her seat. Her hand accidentally grazed against Ron's under the table. She muttered a quick "Sorry."

But Ron grabbed her hand and laced his fingers through hers. He let their newly entwined hands to rest on his thigh.

He looked at Hermione and blushed slightly. He smiled at her, a reassuring smile full of love and passion.

Ron slowly began play with her fingers with his thumb, showing her in a strange unspeaking way how much he cared for her and how much he cared for her and would always protect her. Hermionee's heart skipped a beat, and she gave his hand a squeeze.

They both knew that their lives would be very different from now on, but they didn't think about the technicalities at the moment. All they did now was to hold hands under the table and spend the charms class staring into each other's eyes. Because right now, that's all that mattered.
