The young girl lent against the door, letting out a deep sigh. 'Please,' she pleaded, her voice soft. She was on the verge of tears. 'I need you'. The tears were rolling down her face now. She curled up in a ball and fell into an uneasy sleep.

Several hours later, one of the maids in the castle hear her choked sobs. She was obviously having another nightmare. Thinking of her own daughter, she scooped the girl into her arms and carried her into her bedroom. Anna settled into the warmth of the hug and calmed. As she tucked her into bed, another member of staff walked into the room. The maid greeted this person and the retreated from the room. They stood, hovering in the doorway, watching the young girl sleep. A few minutes later they left.

Anna awoke and saw the smiling face of her sister. 'Elsa?' she asked sleepily. 'Come on, let's build a snowman' was the reply she was met with. A large grin spread across her face. She wrapped her arms round her sister, not wanting the moment to end. The two raced down the stairs, hand in hand. They flew out the door and leap into the blanket of crisp white snow.

'What should we name him?' It was several hours later and the girls were standing triumphantly in front of a perfectly built snowman. 'Frosty,' giggled Anna. 'Hello Frosty,' replied Elsa. She reached down and lifted her sister up. 'Do you want hot chocolate?' She was met with an enthusiastic nod. The sisters ran back into the castle.

Elsa sat watching her sister. She was happily drinking her hot chocolate. The younger girl paused and turned to her sister. 'Why did you stay in that room for so long?' she asked, emphasizing the so. The older girl didn't reply. She lifted her sister into her lap and said, 'It's a secret. But I'm not going to do it again. We are going to be best friends forever.' Satisfied with that answer, Anna cuddled into Elsa.

Anna woke up in her bed, wondering where Elsa had gone. She heard voices outside her room and decided to listen to what they were saying.

'That poor child. I found her sleeping outside Elsa's door last night. She's not coping well.'

'She still sings to her. It breaks my heart. She has the voice of an angel.'

'Do you think she'll ever recover from losing her?'

Anna sat up and let out a long sigh. It was just a dream. She stopped listening to the conversation and just zoned out as she remembered the snowman from her dream. She mentally revisited every second, capturing the smiles on Elsa's face.

She was brought back to reality all too soon by the conversation which was still going on outside. She heard the words 'dead' and 'Elsa'. Lies. They were all lies. Elsa wasn't dead. She knew it. How could Elsa be dead?

Anna pulled herself out of bed. She wanted to fire those stupid people who insisted Elsa was no longer with them. She ran to Elsa's room. For once the door was unlocked. Anna ran inside to find… Nothing. 'Elsa?' she whispered.

The two members of staff came behind her. 'Sweetie, Elsa's gone. Remember?'

Anna punched her in the face. 'No!' she screamed. 'Where is she!?'

The woman sighed. 'She went down with that ship, darling'. She stared at Anna. The poor girl was in denial. She had been for a while now but seemed to be getting worse.

Anna stepped back as if someone had punched her. She shook her head, refusing to believe it. Feeling sick, she ran to her room. She looked out of her window. She was rather high up and her window looked directly onto the moat. Trembling with anticipation, she clambered onto the window ledge. 'Today's the day we build a snowman,' she whispered. She closed her eyes and jumped.
