Hello, and thank you for reading my hunting journals! Some of you may remember when I did this last time, some may not. For those who don't, what I do is create a character in Skyrim whose sole purpose is to hunt the various game animals of the wilds. I record my adventures in the form of a journal that would be kept by the character. I hope you enjoy reading the entries as much as I enjoy playing and writing them!
Rules:
1) No fast traveling. Paying for a cart ride is allowed, but not encouraged.
2) Must eat twice a day, morning and night. The meal must consist of a drink, and two separate types of food, unless the food eaten is a hearty meal, such as a stew. Since there doesn't seem to be any form of drinking water in the land of Skyrim at all, mead, ale, and wine all count as "Water".
3) Equipment is limited to a hunting bow, with iron arrows, and a steel dagger. No armor is allowed besides fur or hide quality. There are no restrictions on upgrading arms and armor, save that they shall not be enchanted
4) Appropriate clothing must be worn for the weather. You would not wear sleeveless clothes in a snowstorm, or go without a hat.
5) Whenever a large kill is made, such as a deer or bear, I must wait an hour in game if I wish to skin the animal and take its hide. Walrus and wolves, as well as other small game animals save a rabbit, only have to do the same every two animals.
6) Carrying weight cannot exceed 115, no matter the max carrying amount.
7) Sleep every night if possible, unless extreme circumstances disallow it.
8) * Because of this characters background, I will attempt to not kill any NPC characters for as long as possible, and only under extreme circumstances.
Side Notes:
Because I own the Xbox 360 version of Skyrim and not the PC, it is not possible for me to have the various mods that would make this a lot more realistic and enjoyable for me, such as the camping mod, and others that add other aspects to the game that make surviving more difficult. Because of this, I have a few "rules" if you will to balance out things for which I am limited in.
1) When in the wilderness, waiting can be counted as sleeping overnight as long as you carry and drop a peice of firewood to act as a campsite for the night. The wood cannot be picked up and used again after being used as a fire.
2) Certain items marked as ingredients can be eaten as food, such as bird eggs, honey, small fish, or any other item that is really food, but is counted as an alchemy ingredient.
3) My difficulty is set to master. This is to make the game harder, for this character and the rest of my characters.
That is all! This section may be edited in the future, or it may not be. Enjoy!
