His soft, yellow feathers were so nice and warm against my body.
"This is what you want, isn't it, Mr. Puffin?" Gilbird whispered telepathically to me. "Of course it is, you stupid yellow bird!" I shouted in frustration. I don't know why I shouted, though. I had no reason to be frustrated. Although, I guess I had a reason or two to be impatient. Gilbird was keeping me begging for more of his love.
Gilbird just smiled. I knew that he knew I had anger problems. But, for some reason, he still loved me. And I guess I love him, too. More than Iceland loves grilled fish. More than Norway secretly loves Denmark. More than Kumajirou loves Panda (the way they showed their affection for each other on Valentines Day still makes me shudder. I don't know why their owners find it cute.). More than France loves that girl.
Gilbird continued cuddling against me, and I blushed.
I knew that for this moment, even though we were so different, and we could probably never announce our love to the rest of the world, well, I knew that it was alright. Because we had each other.
Gilbird chirped silently and nuzzled against my neck. I covered my wing over his soft, little body.
Because we had each other.
