The dark sky lit up as lightning flashed across the sky. Rain was falling hard against the roof of the mansion. Dick was sitting up in bed playing on his DS. He sighed as thunder rang through the sky.

Just like when every storm starts in Gotham, Dick had checked the weather and sure enough it was storming just as bad over there. This is why he is up in the middle of the night. Sure he didn't show up yet but it was only 30 minutes. It was only a matter of time.

He looked over to the slightly open window. Alfred was going to have a fit but wet walls and carpets are better than broken glass.

Going back to his game he started counting the minutes. When he reached fifteen minutes the window was forced all the way open and a breeze swept through the room.

The boy smirked. "Forty-five minutes. That's new record."

At the foot of his bed was a pile of blankets. If you looked closely you could see that the pile was shaking.

"Shut up.." came a muffled reply.

Dick chuckled and moved closer to the pile. He lifted up the bottom and came face to face with wide green eyes. He stuck his head under and smiled. "It's just a storm."

Wally huffed. "It's not 'just a storm'," He yelped when more thunder came. "It's a thunder storm."

Blue eyes rolled. He knew why his friend was scared. But it was years ago. Dick crawled the rest of the way under the blanket mountain and put an arm around his best friend. Wally automatically curled up into the embrace.

"I don't get it." He said quietly.

"Get what?"

"Why your still scared. It was a long time ago."

It was quiet for a moment after that. Dick couldn't tell if it was because he upset Wally or if he was thinking. He tightened his hold and waited.

When he thought the speedster fallen asleep, he spoke.

"It was one of the scariest moments of my life, Dick."

He knew that.

"You wanna talk about?"

"You already know."

"Yeah but it helps to talk about it. Trust me."

He knew that talking made it better. He knew it would help Wally too.

"It's nothing compared to how scared you were when, you know, but I was terrified. I thought I was gonna die in those woods. I couldn't walk with a broken ankle and all so I had to wait. I was cool with waiting but it took hours Dick. Then it started storming."

He remember when he first told him the story. He did think it was nothing. But then he thought that maybe to a normal kid, it would be terrifying.

"I cant help but feel scared at storms. I'm always thinking that lightning is going to hit me again." He gave off a wary chuckle. "It did but it was for a good reason."

Dick smiled. Of course Wally would find some humor. It was what he did.

The two remained quiet for some time after that. Dick went to talk with the speedster when he realized that this time he did fall asleep.

"Night Walls." He said quietly before he too fell asleep.

It was the least he could do, comfort his friend. He did it with him when the day came around. It's what friends are for after all.

A/N: Welp it's storming and my dog is practically having a heart attack because of it. I was bored and he inspired me! There were a couple tornadoes by my house.. Yeah I know tornadoes by your house? Your crazy for writing like it's nothing! I agree 100%. I probably am crazy ;)

In my head, Central and Gotham (and Star on occasions) cities are all pretty far away from each other but still close enough to have similar weather soo yeah.

I should be working on my other stories... I will. Eventually. In the mean time review! It makes me happy!
