Just A Suggestion

"So..."Mako began, her tone somewhat hesitant, yet curious as ever,"What do you think of Torian?"

"What do you mean?" Kikalla responded. The simple question had caught her slightly off guard, but she continued nonchalantly, "He's part of the crew now, and if he proves to be as valuable as he was on Taris then it'll be good to have him around."

"You know that's not what I meant," Mako scolded.

"Oh?" The chiss bounty hunter tried to feign innocence.

"Oh come on," Mako pleaded. "I've noticed how you look at him. You can't deny that you're at least a little interested."

"Mako, I barely know the guy..."

"I know," the girl agreed. "But maybe you should change that."

"I think we have more important issues to deal with," Kikalla tried to reason, though she knew it was in vain.

"The Blacklist?" Mako responded. "I know it's important; it's our life right now. All I'm saying is you should find some time to do something for yourself while you can."

"Okay, okay, you've made your point," Kikalla conceded. "Anything else I should know?"

"Well..." Mako began with a mischievous smile, "I think he's already completely smitten with you."

"Oh really?" the chiss asked with a hint of amusement. "Another thing you've noticed?"

"Hey, you should know by now that nothing gets past me," Mako replied.

Kikalla smiled in agreement. "You know, you really do have a gift for finding out things you're not supposed to."

"No arguments there," Mako said with a laugh. "And look how far it's gotten us."

"Yeah, I can't say I have much to complain about," Kikalla admitted. "Dammit, Mako, what should I do?"

"I've already given my opinion," Mako answered. "You have to decide for yourself if you want to follow it. But since you did ask me, I'm telling you to go talk to him. Just casually; get a feel for the situation."

Kikalla sighed. "If you really think so...but you know how I feel about letting people in."

"And that's exactly why you need someone like him," Mako said. "Besides, you let me in and nothing bad has come of it...I think."

"I guess you're right about that," the bounty hunter said with a short laugh. "But it also means you're due for a mistake," she added with a smirk.

"Oh come on," Mako dismissed the argument. "You're just making excuses. After all we've been through, I think you can handle talking to a guy."

"Hey, everyone has their weaknesses," Kikalla answered simply, once again trying to play innocent.

"Look, it'll be your loss," the girl responded. But seriously, it's not that big a deal."

"You're right," Kikalla finally admitted. "What's the worse that could happen?"

"That's more like it!" Mako smiled.

"Yeah, yeah; let's not make it a big deal." Though she had decided to face the situation, Kikalla still wasn't thrilled about it. But underneath all her cockiness, she knew Mako was right and that she really did want to talk to the young Mandalorian. "Well," she said as she turned to leave to cockpit, "here goes nothing."
