In an asteroid floating in space, there lived a hobbit. Not an uninhabited asteroid filled with nothing but dusty stones and rocks nor an industrial rock filled with heavy machinery throwing out pollution. It was a hobbit-hole and that meant comfort. It had a round airlock which led into an intricate network of tunnels. Some of these tunnels led to hydroponic farms or fusion generators but the main path led into a home. It was a comfy home with tiled walls, wooden furniture, and carpeted floors. There were a number of rooms for guests and other visitors. This entire home had been made inside a large asteroid called the Hill.
The hobbit that lived in it was rather wealthy and his name was Bilbo Baggins. The Baggins had lived in that asteroid for millennia and they were rather well respected not only due to their wealth but also because they never did anything unexpected. If you knew the time, you would know what a Baggins was doing. They rarely used new technology or explored new planets
You might now be wondering what is a hobbit and I suppose they need some explanation these days as they rarely travel beyond their home solar system. They were a short race adapted to traveling the small tunnels of asteroid mines and even smaller than dwarves. They had the little advance technology but were experts in remaining undetected, they were able to hide from all but the highest quality sensors. They have no robots or advanced cybernetic but are able to create fusion reactors and hydroponic farms from the simplest of tools. Their skin was thick and protected them from all form of radiation. That's quite enough about them, back to the story
The mother of Bilbo Baggins was a Took, the famous Bellona Took daughter of Old Took who lived in a comet. It was often said the Tooks had migrated to the solar system in their comet, this was, of course, absurd but there was something not entirely hobbit-like about them. Every once in a while, a Took would have an adventure. They would travel to the glitter planets of the elves or would sail the interstellar sea, the family would hush it up but sometimes adventurous lingered around them. Bellona Took, however, had no adventures when she became Bellona Baggins. Her husband builds the most luxurious asteroid for her and now their son was living there.
