Another immortal kinda thing. I've got a story set 100 years into the future but I'm not sure whether to post it soon or not…

Synopsis: Living forever is never a gift; it's a curse, I think I've said enough.

Eternal Torment

He didn't attempt to defend himself as the slayer lunged at him stake in hand, he smiled at the slayer in thanks; all these years of defending himself and living on in torment was going to be over. The stake neared his chest but he made no attempt to move despite all his instincts screaming to defend himself; he was shaking with the effort of letting the attack commence and not ripping the slayers head off. He felt the wood slice through his hardened skin and into his stomach but what he longed for never came.

He desired pain; to feel he was alive but he couldn't feel anything… he couldn't even feel emotion. To him everything was empty, seen that, been there, killed that. The slayer just gaped at him like a fish; Vlad hadn't responded to being staked through the heart. Eventually Vlad sighed, giving into the instincts ordering him to kill the slayer, reaching out a hand towards the slayers neck ignoring all resistance he heard the fatal crack! The slayer fell into a heap at Vlad's feet.

"Sorry," He said to the corpse his voice empty of emotion. Slowly he grabbed the stake and aggressively pulled it from his heart, a slight squelch was heart but he felt nothing. He nudged the body with his foot. "You don't know how lucky you are…" He sighed once more before walking into the distance.

The only thing Vlad was now was just a walking corpse with thoughts or so he said.
