Eyes meeting across the room, the two sometimes enemies, sometimes lovers, gave each other the slightest nod. They met in the middle of the dance floor and he wrapped strong arms around her curvaceous frame. She was surprised how well she still fit with him, like locking puzzle pieces, even after so many years. So long they had been apart and yet they could act as if nothing had ever come between them.

A slow, jazzy sort of song, and obvious choice of the groom, started playing and he twirled her around the dance floor. It wasn't any specific dance, it was more of a test to see if they could guess the other's steps as they had been able to so long ago. They were both pleased and not at all surprised to find that they could.

She rested her head on his shoulder and sighed in content. This was the only place she could ever relax, wrapped in his arms. The same rang true even now.

"I've missed you, she whispered, knowing his ears alone would be able to pick up the sentiment under the music.

He smiled softly and kissed the top of her head, winking at the bride over her shoulder. "Yeah, darlin'. I missed you too. More than I can even say."

She turned golden eyes on him and leaned into him, pressing a tender kiss to his lips the same way he used to wake her up every morning. Even if it had pissed her off that he had woken her up at five am every damn morning, she did miss that ritual.

He gave her a winning smile and kissed her longer, deeper. Her lips, her embrace… It felt like coming home.

"Ray?" he asked after a long moment.

"Yes, James?"

"I'm yours," he whispered, resting his forehead against hers. Her heart started beating faster and she cupped his cheek in one hand, kissing him again. She couldn't get enough of this man.

"Why did I ever stay away from you?" she asked, shaking her head at her stupidity. He still wanted her even after what had transpired nearly fifteen years ago.

"Can't say that I know."

"I love you, James."

He grinned at he and held her closer. "I love you too, darlin'. With all my heart."
