School had just let for the weekend and April O'Neil was ready to grab a pizza and head 'home'. She walked down and empty street, excited to be away from all the people and the hustle of the never sleeping city. All her human friends were nice and fun to be around but were nothing compared to her 'unique' friends in the sewers. It had been roughly a year ago when these strange alien creatures attempted to kidnap her and her dad Kirby O'Neil. During the ambush, four strange turtle mutants spotted them and helped out take out the aliens.

Although the alien robots overpowered the group and took April and her dad to a cell, the turtles soon came to the rescue again and got April out safe and sound. April was safe but getting her father away and safe from the aliens, known as the Krang, was another story in itself. It's safe for her to say Mater Splinter, Leonardo, Rapheal, Michelangelo and Donatello are the best make-shift family anybody could ask for.

Walking into the pizza parlor, April smiled. "Two pizza's please, Leigh."

"The usual Sweetie?" The twenty year old behind the counter held up two box's filled with fresh pizzas.

"How did you know?" April widened her eyes in mock surprise following up with a wink.

Leigh laughed. "It's a gift. Plus you order it all the time. How you are able to eat so much pizza is beyond me but hey, I'm not complaining. Before I forget, I was wondering if you've seen Riley lately. I was hoping she would be able to take up one of my shifts, I have a special event coming up and I can't miss it."

Taking the correct amount of money out of her pocket, April picked up the boxes from the counter. "Finally have a date Leigh?" April laughed.

"Ha-Ha. You girls are so funny. One day it will be but this is only a meeting for work."

April continued smiling. "I saw her at school today. I think she was going with Koda to the half pipes. They've been 'shredding' like crazy since they got their new boards. I bet one of them will have a phone on them." She headed for the door. "And good luck with that date!"

"Thanks sweetie, and it's not a date!" Leigh watched her walk out of the parlor.

April thought about her best, human, friends and how they already had their own jobs. They were out in the world making money and getting prepared to start lives on their own. She couldn't help but compare it to her own life of going to the sewers on a daily bases just to hang with the guys.

Turning down the alley she checked her watch. "4:59, I'm one minute early and you're still not here yet. Not like your lives are overly busy in the middle of the day. Especially when there are no mutants on the loose." April grumbled to herself.

Right before sitting down, a voice called out from the shadows. "Hey, are lives are totally busy!" An orange banded turtle jumped down from the fire escape.

"Mikey! I told you not to scare me like that!" April scolded at the young turtle. "And how is your day busy? What do you guys do?"

"April, it's what I do best, it comes with being a ninja. You should know that by now." Michelangelo walked over and opened the cover to the sewers. "And we do ninja stuff."

"Ha, ninja stuff." April scoffed. "Whatever you say Mikey."

Making a point, Mikey kicked the boxes out of April's grip and swiftly back flipped into the hole. The boxes fell right onto his outstretched arm as the girl rolled her eyes. "Point taken."

She too made her way down to the sewers and took the boxes back from the young turtle. He then went back up to cover the hole again. Once their tracks were covered they made their way back to the lair.
