Ice pops
Ruby's POV
Today was a perfect day for pokemon training. A chilly breeze, warm sunrays, and best of all, Sapphire by my side. Rara was having a lot of fun battling Sapphire's Rono.
"Use rock smash!" Sapphire told Rono. Wow, she was really in to battling. I was only doing this for her. A couple moves later, Rara fainted. I told Rara she did a great job.
Sapphire walked over to me, grinning over her win. "Hey, prissy boy!" she yelled. "Nice battling," she said with a grin. After all of our adventures together, she finally warmed up to me.
"It's to hot!" I complained. "Let's go get some ice cream!" she said. Sapphire grabbed my wrist and pulled me over to the ice cream truck. I could feel my face warming up. We were
fourteen and thirteen years old, but we still acted like kids sometimes.
Sapphire's POV
Ruby was buying us ice cream! "What flavor do you like?" Ruby asked me. I took a second look at the truck's menu. Gross! These flavors were lame! What the heck was "Perfect
Pistachio!" I thought to myself. "Let's just get some ice pops," Ruby said. He got a cherry and a blue raspberry. He handed me the blue raspberry ice pop and smiled. That smile was
too cute. What am I thinking! I smack myself in the head. "Is something wrong?" Ruby asks me. "Oh...um... no, everything is fine!" I say to him. We go to sit down on some rocks.
While Ruby babbles on and on about his latest contest, I pretend to listen by saying "yeah" and "cool". Really, I was thinking about our confession on Mirage Island. Does he still like
me? Do I still like him? I try to push that out of my mind. I feel something cold on my neck. I look down to see some of my ice pop has melted. And it's dripping down. Great.
"Here," Ruby said, wiping my neck with a napkin. Oh Groudon, he's so close to my face! Ruby was starring into my eyes. Oh, I'm blushing, Aren't I ?
Ruby's POV
I made a weird noise. It sounded like I was trying to say "um". "What?" Sapphire asked me. "Oh it's um...just that..." I started. I could feel my face getting warmer and warmer.
"Just what?" Sapphire said to me. " I-It's just that... I never really n-noticed how pretty your eyes w-were..." I said. They were a sparkly sapphire blue with a hint of teal and mint.
What did I just do?
Sapphire's face was just as red as my cherry ice pop. "Uh... do you remember what happened on Mirage Island?" Sapphire asks. Uh-Oh. I know where this is going. "Y-yes..." I say,
blushing. Sapphire continued. "Well...I kind of still l-like y-" I kiss her. It was sweet and short, but I wish it lasted longer. "I like you too." I tell her.
