This fan fiction is going to be a story based off the song Cendrillon by Vocaloid. I really love this song so I decided to add this story to my collection. This story has a bit of a twist from the song though.
Vietnam was couldn't do it, even if it was to help her family. She couldn't kill the one she loved for money. Her life wasn't always so poor; she used to sleep in an elegant king sized bed with her father reading her sleep. But her father had died when she was eight, leaving her, two stepsisters, and her stepmother to fend for themselves. Her stepmother was a greedy person, with her stepsisters, and they all had soon gone bankrupt. Leaving her stepmother, small 12-year-old Vietnam went out to search for some type of work.
Walking down the bad part of town she sat on a curb. She had been pronounced to poor for any work she knew of. Vietnam had not bothered going home, what was the use if all that would happen is getting stomped on by her family. She held on to her most prized possession, her father's locket. Before Vietnam's biological mother had died, she had given Vietnam's father the beautiful locket. Inside was tiny contraption that played a lovely tune when you opened it. She held the locket close to her chest and stood up; she started walking again, into the woods. Vietnam had heard of a witch living in these woods, but she didn't care.
About halfway past midnight, she heard a voice behind her. The sound of wood and footsteps. She turned to look behind her; she knew she was being followed. "Who's there!" She cried out picking up a branch. Vietnam turned back the way she had been walking, coming face to face in front of an old woman. Vietnam let out a squeak and hurried three steps back.
"Are you frightened by me child?" The old woman asked.
"No, why would I be? You only shocked me a littleā¦" Vietnam answered her back.
"Haven't you heard that a witch inhabits these woods?"
"Yes, but I am her t-to seek out the witch!" She stuttered.
"You are here to see her are you? You must been in an awfully lot of trouble to call on this forest's witch."
"I need to feed my family! I'll do anything to have food and shelter!"
"You are a kind soul, are you not? If you must see the witch, follow me," The old woman commented.
The old lady started walking with a hunched back farther into the woods, her cane out in front of her. Vietnam followed her, swiftly catching up. She looked up at the canopy above her, to her dismay; a huge amount of black bats flew above her head. Trying not to look up at them again, she looked down at the ground. She didn't realize the old woman had stopped until Vietnam softly bumped into her. She looked up to see a small cottage, decorated in ivory and greens.
She invited Vietnam into the cottage and asked her to wait as she went to go get the witch. 'What have I gotten into!'
