Chapter 1
Harry's name had come out of the Goblet of Fire. No one believed him when he said that he hadn't put his name in. Not even Dumbledore. Just goes to show how fickle people are. Professing to be his friends one day, and turning on him the next. He shouldn't be surprised really, this had happened before. The chamber of secrets should have shown him just how fast people turn. He supposed he was going to have to start getting used to being alone again. He didn't even have Ron and Hermione this time around. Both believed that he entered himself into the tournament. Honestly, if having friends meant always having to watch what he said for fear of their jeoulousy, Harry wasn't sure he even wanted friends. He was probably better off anyway. Ron was always getting upset over anything good in Harry's life and it was getting kind of old. Hermione's need to constantly be better than everyone else had been starting to wear on his nerves as well. There was only so much nagging a bloke could take after all.
Harry didn't think they understood that they had screwed up any chance of being friends with him now that they had shown their true colors. He knew now that the reason Ron had approached him on that first train ride all those years ago had been because of his supposed "fame". But just being friends with the Boy Who Lived hadn't been enough for him. Ron had always wanted more, he had always resented Harry, though he hid it well, for the fame that his parents death had brought him. And now Ron thought that he would be able to abandon him and then come crawling back later? Well he was in for a rude awakening. Hermione was just as bad, following Ron around like a lost puppy. Harry just couldn't understand how someone who thought herself so much smarter than everyone else could be dumb enough to think that Ron was actually her friend. The only reason they had ever gotten along was because Harry had been there as a mediator for their constant fighting. Now that Harry wasn't there, Ron was going to turn on her so fast her head would be spinning for days. It's like she didn't remember who had sent her crying into that bathroom in first year. Well Harry wasn't going to forget, he knew that if he let Ron back in, he would just betray him again at the first sign of trouble, and Hermione too, if she didn't grow a spine sometime soon. Harry was not going to be put through that ever again.
Oh well. Tommorow was a new day, and the school was in for a shock if they thought he was going take all of this lying down.
Welp. there's chapter one.
