Hello, dear readers.

This is a small one chapter story for you. This was from an English assignment, where I had to describe the scene before introducing the characters, so I decided to include Sophie and Howl in this one. I have more chapters planned for my other fanfic: Many Months of the Jenkins Family. These will be uploaded within the next week. Just proof reading these though. Anyway, I hope that you enjoy.

Cheers, Queen of IFS

"If I had a flower for every time you make me smile and laugh, I would have a garden to walk through forever."

The whole flower garden was so beautiful. No word would ever be able to start to describe what beauty it possessed. It was a perfect day, very bright and happy, with weightless, puffy, white clouds which floated lightly across the slightly windy plains. The crisp, green hills rolled over each other, across the large area, illuminated with many blossoming rainbow flowers; so many, in fact that one could open up a flower shop and have an endless supply. The mountains in the background stood tall and strong in the winds. Snow caps laid on top of them, which slowly melted and blew off. The slow, lazy river, which started as a trickle in the mountains supplied the flowers with an endless supply of water, its pristine colour warmly shining from the reflection of the sun, its flow seeping into a large lake. The cobblestone path which lead to the small cottage was old and worn, having many feet of many generations walk over it. The wooden bridge which crossed the river was also old, but showed signs of recent repair, the newer wood having a lighter hue of brown than the older wood. The cottage was small and rectangular, with cream-yellow walls and a terracotta-tiled roof. One the end that faced the river, was a large water wheel moving slowly and on the other end was a large chimney. It had two windows, which signified that it had two rooms. A single wooden plank door stood between the two windows. There wasn't a more perfect scene for Sophie, who watched it unfold in pure silence and amazement.
"It's beautiful, Howl," Sophie cried, smiling and her close friend.
"Yes, it is, Sophie," Howl replied, also looking into the beautiful scenery, "When I come to this place, it makes me think of you."
"Oh?" Sophie's surprised face turning to Howl, "I'm sure that I'm not as pretty as all of these flowers."
Sophie picked a small, blue violet. Howl walked over to her, placing the flower in her auburn hair.
"You are the more pretty than all of these flowers combined. You are also like this place in other ways. Calm, peaceful, happy. This place describes you perfectly," Howl pulled his hand around her waist.
The two young adults looked around for a while longer before Sophie pointed out, "Is that your cottage, Howl?"
Howl moved his eyes to the said cottage, "Yes. It was my uncle's. When he died, he left it in his will to give to me. It can be ours now if you want."
"Ours?" Sophie questioned.
"Yes," Howl replied, now facing the young woman, "Sophie. When I first met you, I knew that you were kind and caring. I'm surprised that you stuck with me, being selfish."
"Howl, you're not selfish!" Sophie cut in.
"I have been planning on asking you this for a while, but I never found a nice time to ask." Howl started.
"Howl, what are you-"
"Will you marry me?"
Both stood silently for a small time, but to each of them, seemed like ages. Sophie didn't know if she had heard him correctly. She just stood, staring into his blue eyes with her doe brown. She just felt tears welling up in her eyes.
Howl didn't know what to do, "Sophie, I'm sorry if you-"
"Yes," Sophie smiled towards the stunned young man.
"Yes! Yes, I will!" Sophie cried and ran into Howl's arms.
"I love you."
"I love you too."
