Harry looked back. Diagon Alley was gone. He hardly expected it to go as it had. He wish this wouldn't have been the last time he would ever see it. War is crazy.
"Ron! Hermione! There gone!"
Ron emerged. "Took long enough."
"Hey. At least we're alive. Where's Hermione?"
"I don't know. I thought she was with you."
"She was until Bellatrix came after us. I thought she turned back to get to you."
"Let's look for her," Ron said. He looked scared.
"Yeah. We have to. Let's go," Harry said nervously. He could only imagine the worst. He saw Hermione face down in the rubble of an unidentifiable shop. He and Ron flipped her over to see her unblinking eyes. My god, he hoped that wasn't true.
"Hermione! Where are you?" Ron yelled, desperate to find her. Then, out of nowhere, a silvery figure came straight toward them.
"Duck!" Harry warned.
"No. It's an otter. Hermione's Patronus is an otter!"
Then the figure landed in front of them and started speaking in Hermione's voice, "Ron. Harry. I'm in the apothecary. Come quickly. The Carrows are here. Not near me, but they're here. Bellatrix is looking for you. And please be quiet!"
"She heard us! She's alive!" Ron whispered. Apparently, the same feeling of relief came over him as it did with Harry.
"Yes. We have to get there quickly. And quietly for that matter. I'll get the Invisibility Cloak. We can Disapperate when we get to Hermione. She'll know where to go," Harry said, rummaging through his own bag that Hermione had put the Undetectable Enlargement Charm on.
They walked as fast as possible, going past all the once colorful, boisterous shops. Memories of getting robes at Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions, Flourish and Blotts, and the once wonderful Ollivander's. Harry remembered when he ran away from the Dursley's to the alley. Everyone was friendly and helpful. At the age of seventeen, everything was gone. Most were hiding, trying to stay alive…
There were the Carrows. They walked right past Harry and Ron without even turning up a nose at as much as a funny feeling that someone else was there, too.
"Come on, Amycus. The Dark Lord will kill us if we don't find them," Alecto, the sister, said.
"I know," the one named Amycus said. "Potter must be under that cloak. Accio Cloak."
Harry and Ron grabbed the cloak at the last second. Ron looked at Harry. He mouthed the word, 'Go.'
Harry nodded. They continued at an even slower pace than before. They finally reached the apothecary. They looked around before taking off the cloak.
"Hermione," Harry whispered, "come out."
"Over here," Hermione said, standing up. "I found it again. The symbol. Oh my gosh. Are you okay?"
Harry realized how awful he must have looked after that duel with Bellatrix.
"Yeah, I'm fine. We don't have time for the symbol now."
"Harry's right. We already escaped here once on a dragon," Ron pointed out.
They Disapperated. They landed on a grassy hillside. "Where are we?" Ron asked.
"Little Whinging. Harry's aunt and uncle's house is-."
"Down there."
"Yes. It's the first place that popped into my head that would be safe."
"The Death Eaters would never expect us to come here."
"Yes. I'll start the enchantments. Salvio Hexia…Protego Totalum…Repello Muggletum…Muffliato."
"I'll get the tent."
"Let's go down there tomorrow," Harry said while looking down at Privet Drive.
"Okay, might as well. It's late we should get some rest."
"All right. I'll take first watch," Ron said.
