Disclaimer: They all still belong to Paramount. Maybe I don't deserve them for treating them like this.
Author's Notes: I wrote this with T/R in mind, though there's nothing explicitly slashy about it, so I classified it as gen. This was intended as a response to a Gershwin song title challenge. But I'm not very good at coloring within the lines. So this is Gershwin, but not a song. And, my apologies, but it's a deathfic and must be considered AU. This is the first on an ongoing series; the next in the series is "Mourning."

Rhapsody in Blue
This nebula's a bloody deathtrap.
Silver death lies in ambush within this shimmering interstellar dust bin. I recognize a weapon when I see one.
I recall the rapt gazes of this crew at our first unknown nebula, anxious to name it, befriend it. Wearing innocence like our blue skivvies, unashamed of being seen publicly in either. Commander Tucker perhaps most naive of all, the most filled with wonder.
The wonder died with the attack on Shuttlepod Two. He'd insisted on leading that mission. I hope he's found his peace.
I'll say this much for death. It has a lovely facade.
