Short story... figment of my stupid imagination... :) This scene came to me just after episode 'Punked'. So this fic contain some major spoilers from this episode. It's about Kate Beckett's new - someone - Josh.

I know it's probably my wishful thinking but since she didn't kiss him or anything - she only put his arm around him and so did he when they were walking away I just thought that maybe

Wishful thinking They walked out off the precinct together. It was simple, it was normal, familiar. Kate laid her head on his shoulder and for a moment she closed her eyes.
She missed him terribly since last time they met.
"Hey Kid " - Josh smiled down to her. "Wake up!"
She rolled her eyes and straighten up.
"I've told you million times Dorkenstein... don't call me KID!"
He laughed.
"You are younger so that means that you are a KID!"
She sighed dramatically.
"Sixteen months... You're only sixteen months older than me Josh."
"Yeeessss... So this means that I'm always right!"
"In your dreams Pikachu!"
He looked at her in horror.
"Oooo no you didn't..."
"I didn't what?" - she asked innocently.
"No one call me Pikachu since high school!"
She smirked.
"Maybe not to you face!"
He shook his head.
"You are going to pay for that, you know that?"
"Promises... promises..." - she feigned a yawn.
They enjoyed comfortable silence for a moment.
"Sooo... Kate " - he started slowly. "What was it about in there?"
"Where?"
"At the precinct? That... - Hi everyone this is Josh - routine? Like I was your boyfriend or something?"
"I don't know what you are talking about?"
"Riiiiiight "
"Stop it!" - she swatted him in the arm. "You are seeing things."
"Exactly sis... I see THINGS."
She looked at him carefully.
"What kind of - things - exactly?" - she asked.
They stopped near Josh motorcycle and faced each other.
"Those kind that... you didn't tell them that I'm your brother."
"I didn't? Really?"
Josh gave her "the look".
"Do not get cute with me missy... I know you better than that."
She made a face.
"It's... just... I don't know... It didn't came out."
"Ooookay... this could be a reason - at least one of them. What's the other?"
She didn't answer him and bit her lip.
Josh smiled at her.
"All right Kid - let's drop it, ok?"
"Thanks..."
He shook his head with defeat, took helmet and sat on his bike. Beckett sat behind him and circled her arms around his waist.
Just before Josh started the engine - he turn his head at his sister and smiled with the twinkle in his eyes.
"Kate?"
"Yes?"
"Do you think Castle was jealous?" - he laughed.
She lokked at him in shock and than...
"Oooooo... shut up Pikachu!"
