Loss of the Hero
Chapter: One-shot
Link, the Hero of Time, walked through Hyrule. He was just at the field, having sensed the danger. He needed to see Zelda and her father about something very important. His Triforce piece disappeared. He thought he might've gone too far from Hyrule. The Triforce on his hand shattered.
Before he even made it to the Market, something appeared in front of him, but it wasn't Ganondorf.
"Aghanhim, it's you!" Link exclaimed.
"Ah, good Link, it is me," Aghanhim replied sinisterly. "But I have a surprise for you, a little hello again present."
A dark shadow appeared, it took the shape of Link's darkness, but this time it took skin and flesh. It looked exactly like Link, but wore black clothes instead of green.
"I'll have him take you on," Aghanhim whispered. "A little power I learned from my old master, Ganondorf."
Link blocked a clash from Dark Link's sword.
"Well, goodbye, I'm off to bring Ganon back," Aghanhim waved, disappearing.
Link screamed as he fought Dark Link. He blocked, swished, blocked again, ducked, flipped over him, and slashed vertically.
Dark Link blocked them effortlessly.
Link managed to keep his mind though.
If there's anything I learned from Zelda's dad, it's that everyone's darkness is the same as their light! Link thought as he blocked another slash with his sword. They fought continuously. There were no breaks in the fighting, no speaking. They were fighting nonstop.
Link decided to cast Din's fire. The dome of fire surrounded him and spread. Dark Link did the same thing. The domes collided and exploded, throwing both of them back.
When the fire stopped spreading, Dark Link, obviously much stronger in defense, walked up to a weakened Link.
"No, you're me, you can't," Link said weakly.
"I can, I am much more advanced than you," Dark Link said. "You'll need more than that to destroy me!" Dark Link raised his sword. "Ganondorf will return and take over Hyrule, and there is nothing you can do about it!" With that, he struck his sword, stabbing Link in the chest.
"Ahh," Link screamed.
"Hah, I'll see you later," Dark Link laughed. "Or rather I would, if only you'd survive!"
"Noooooooooooo, please, I can't go now," Link said weakly, getting quieter all the time.
"I'll see you in Death," Dark Link said calmly. "I knew I'd kill you. You're just like me, only one of us had to die, it was you! The loss of the Triforce made you weak!"
"It was you, your plan," Link concluded.
"YES!" Dark Link said triumphantly, stabbing Link again before disappearing. The Dark Side was triumphant. It took Aghanhim hundreds of years to bring Ganon back, but eventually he did.
Link laid there, in the middle of Hyrule Field, vision going blurry. There was no one to help him. He was dead, it was over. Ganondorf won. He exhaled his last breath before dying.
