A/N: Hi! I'm back! This is something I've imagined ever since I've read the books, and something I've wanted to do for a long time. Review and tell me what you think! As I mentioned in some of other stories (be sure to check them out!), I might not be able to update for a while. but if I get good reviews, I will update. Hope you enjoy!

"Primrose Everdeen"

My blood runs cold as I hear the name. It can't be. Her name was only entered once! But yet it is.

"Prim!" I call out desperately. They can't take her away! So I do the only thing I can think of.

"I volunteer as tribute!" I call out. I feel numb, half with relief because they let prim go, half with fear as realization of what I've just done sets in.

They lead me onto the stage. I hear Prim yelling my name and trying to get to me, but Gale carries her away.

"What's your name, dear?" Effie Trinket asks me.

"Katniss Everdeen," I mumble.

"Well I bet my buttons that was your sister," she says.

Normally, I would roll my eyes and make some offensive remark, but now I am too numb with shock.

"Now, why don't we give a round of applause to our very first volunteer!" She exclaims.

Nobody claps, which I am thankful for, but everyone takes three fingers and presses them to their lips and raises them up in the air. It's a symbol that we use in district twelve. I am very grateful.

"Well then," Effie Trinket says. She waddles in her extremely high heels over to the bowl containing the names of the boys. She reaches her hand in and pulls out a slip. She waddles back to the microphone and breaks open the seal.

"Peeta mellark," she reads.

Peeta. I vaguely remember him. I think he gave me bread when we were little.

All of a sudden, another voice calls out from the crowd. "I volunteer as tribute!" The crowd gasps. I'm the first volunteer from district twelve. Who would expect two in one year?

I assume that it's one of peeta's older brothers. I see the peacekeepers escorting a tall figure onto the stage.

But as I get a good look at him, my blood runs cold.

It's Gale.

A/N: So, whaddya think? Good? Bad? Sorry if it was a little rough, I wrote it on a plane ride home. Review and tell me what you think!
