I don't think I could ever be more excited for a night in my entire life. Cat is coming over to watch a movie with me. I locked Rex in my closet upstairs and ordered a pizza. I am ready for the wonderful being that is Caterina Valentine. I hear a knock on my door and bolt towards it. I breathe a little first and relax and then open the door.
"Hiii," comes a familiar voice and Cat jumps into my arms. "Robbie, how are you?" She pokes me in the stomach repeatedly.
"Hey Cat," I say back to her. Man, she's the absolute cutest. I scold myself a little. I shouldn't have these thoughts about my best friend, but she's just so fantastic.
"What movie are we watching?" She spins around and falls onto the couch. "Can it be a movie with princesses?" she cries out.
"Yeah, princess," I mock. "Whatever you want to watch, it's up to you," I smile. I'm so excited, but on the other hand, she does like sitting on me just for fun. She's so innocent. And I love that, but she really messes with my emotions sometimes, accidentally, of course.
She gasps at my mocking tone but ends up picking Aladdin because she likes the colors best, whatever that really means. "Yay! I'm so excited," she cheers.
I sit down on the couch at a regular distance away from her. She then moves towards me and wraps her legs around mine and rests her head on my shoulder. Oh, Cat. I sigh, but I don't let her notice that anything is wrong.
Luckily the door rings and I stand abruptly. "Got to get the door, Cat. Pizza is here."
"Oh, yay. Did you get pineapple?" Of course, because I know it's one of her favorites.
"Yeah," I respond plainly. I shuffle to the door and give the delivery man his money. I go back onto the couch and sit near Cat, but not directly touching her.
She changes positions to fix that. She sits on her legs and leans on me. Oh man. Then she takes a blanket and covers it over us.
"Cat?" I ask. "Aren't you warm in here?" I messed with the thermostat earlier, so this wouldn't happen.
She shakes her head. "No, but even if I was, I still like blankets," she giggles. Man, she's really cute.
I start the movie and grab a slice of pizza. I'm hoping we can just watch the movie in peace. I mean, I do want something to happen between us, but I don't think she's ready for anything really serious. She's dated a fair of guys but she means from one guy to the next so quickly, which is also a little terrifying when you might be the next guy.
She wraps her arms around me and tries to get as close as she possibly can to me. She has no idea the effect she has on me. I'm just hoping she won't be able to literally feel the effect on me.
She cries out to me, "Robbie, this was such a good idea. Aladdin and Jasmine are so cute together!"
She looks so happy and sweet, it's so hard to not at least try and kiss her. Yet, I somehow resist the urge and I tap her nose. "They are really cute, but shh." I put my finger over her mouth. Wow, big mistake. I quickly remove it and continue. "I want to be able to hear the movie, Kitty Cat."
She frowns, "Boo. Okay, Robbie. I'll just sit here in silence." She pouts and slowly moves her head off of my shoulder.
"Oh, Cat, wait. I'm sorry. I didn't mean it like that. I just really like this movie, too," I say, trying to cover up the fact that I won't be able to stop myself if she keeps talking. I can't believe I invited her here.
"Oh." She perks up a little. "Okay, but we'll talk later then?" She smiles up at me.
"Of course," I chuckle nervously. "We have to talk," and I squeeze her shoulders slightly.
She cocks her head at me but doesn't say anything. Somehow, she actually manages to be quiet throughout the entire movie and we watch the ending credits all the way through.
"Time to talk about the movie now?" she squeaks. "I loved it so much. And I haven't seen it in so long either. It's so different from how I remember it, but so amazing!" She cheers and squirms around in her seat.
"Yeah, Cat. It is a fantastic movie." I trail off. I don't really know what else to say to her.
She looks up at me again. "Robbie?" she squeezes my arm.
"Yeah?" I squeak back.
"I'm going to go get some juice, do you want some?" She beams and the moonlight bounces off of her hair.
She's so sweet. "No, Cat. That's okay. If anything, I should be getting you juice, shouldn't I?"
She thinks for a moment. "Maybe, but I'm getting some orange juice and I'm going to get you some, too." She smiles at me, "Just in case you change your mind."
Well, that's the kind of girl I'm dealing with here. And she's so sweet and innocent. I don't have any clue how to tell her that I have feelings for her and how deep they actually are.
She runs off to the kitchen and I'm left by myself. I have to tell her how I feel, I just do, but I can't think of how to do it. Maybe when she comes back, I'll be brave enough.
