"Thor," I greeted him dryly as we passed each other in the hallway.
"Entity," he greeted me just as dryly. We were usually like this, but for different reasons. He hated me, but I, I absolutely loved him. I only acted this way because he acted this way to me. He scowled at me. "Why must you treat me in such a manner?" His eyebrows furrowed
"Wait… me, treat you like this?" He nodded. "You started this, not the other way around."
"What? That is preposterous. The first time we met, you would not look me in the eye."
I tried to keep my cool. I was fighting with myself, half of me wanted to break down and cry and confess my love for him, the other half of me wanted to slap him for his accusations. I decided on neither. "Excuse me," I said disgustedly. "But if I remember correctly, you didn't even notice me, let alone acknowledge me."
"How could I not have seen you?" He yells in my face.
"Um… pretty simple, you did it then."
"Would you prefer that I acknowledge you the way you ought to be acknowledged?"
"Yes… wait, what?" I did a complete double take. "The way I should be? What does that even mean?"
"It means this." He lent forward and crashed his lips into mine. It took me a second to realize what had happened and I crept my hands up from my sides to his chest and pushed him off me.
"Why…" I stammered. "Why did you…"
"Because that is the way you ought to be acknowledged." He interrupted me. "Violet, you are the most beautiful being that I have ever laid my eyes upon. And I…" He didn't finish his sentence, not that it was his fault. It was just that I decided to interrupt him, with my lips. He didn't object. His hand found its way into my hair and I could feel the other on the small of my back, both pushing me closer to him.
We broke away for air. "I love you," I sighed.
"I love you too."
