Dear Fandom,
To pass the time on the Argo II, we've been reading fanfiction. Although we are flattered by most of it, some of it just makes us cringe, especially Annabeth. So we all found something we each found particularly annoying. So we present you with:
THE 7's DEADLY SINS OF FANFICTION:
1. When we're all super out of character.
Like, I get if you make little changes for the sake of the story, but seriously I've read a couple fanfics where Annabeth is baffled by simple puzzles. Really, if Annabeth was that easily stumped I'd probably be dead, my girlfriend is brilliant, I love her.
-Percy
2. Writing the entire story in summary.
You can't describe three days in two sentences; details are important! I might be a little bit of a writing snob, but after reading "and then" over and over again I find myself rather bored.
-Annabeth
3. Selective Detail.
When you go into extreme detail about the music that is playing in the backround, but barely say anything about what's actually going on. I'm not really interested in the insignificant details, what am I interested in? the story.
-Frank
4. Unrealistic Relationships
You can ship whoever you want, but there needs to be a better reason than "Annabeth suddenly decided she couldn't stand Percy's black hair". Really guys, Jason and I are meant to be together and so are Percy and Annabeth, no offense, but I'm not really interested in dating Frank!
-Piper
5. Text Lingo
Okay, if you want to go through the effort to write fanfiction, use real words. I don't even know what "plz" and "idk" mean! thanks, not all of us are from this century.
-Hazel
6. Too much focus on looks
I get it, we're all smokin' hot, especially me, pun very intended, but I get tired of half the story describing how tall, tan and buff Percy and Jason are. Or their unrealistic fashion sense, really, I don't think I've ever seen Percy in anything but his camp T-shirt (there was that toga, that was weird man)
-Leo
7. Too much angst
Do we really come off as a big group of depressed people? True, we all have our problems, but given the fact that the world is ending, we don't really have time to sit around and mope about them.
-Jason
So thanks everyone for keeping us entertained, and for not committing any of the Seven's Deadly Sins of Fanfiction.
A/N:
To clear things up, we're not against shipping, but what we're really saying is "Don't mess with Percabeth"
