Rain

Friendship often ends in love; but love in friendship - never.
~~Charles Caleb Colton

They were best friends. Honest.

It didn't matter that he loved her, while she pined over a lost love. He wouldn't give up on her, and for that she was grateful.

But sometimes, it was too much. The arguments, the hurt; she couldn't take it. So she'd take off. She'd be back by morning, though, straight into his arms.

That's where she'd spend rain storms; outside, pressed against his chest, their clothes warm and humid between them.

"Bella, Bella," he'd murmur over and over again.

And she'd never say anything; only hide her head in the crevice of his neck.
