" My treat!!" Gumshoe exclaimed. " Yay!!" Maya said excitedly. Phoenix chuckled.
" Detective Gumshoe… Seeing how prosecutors, in particular Miles, like to cut down your salary, you think you have enough money to give us a treat? Maya here is a really big eater you know? I swear I spent almost half of my earnings on her food." Phoenix said, earning a glare from the spirit medium.
" We could always share the bill." Gumshoe replied. Just as Phoenix was about to reply, his phone rang. Phoenix took out his phone, but dropped and item. Edgeworth was about to pick it up, since he was closest to Phoenix, but said person beat him to it. Phoenix quickly put the item into his pocket.
" Hello, Phoenix Wright."
" It's done? Great, I'll go get it now."
" What is it?" Larry asked. " It's nothing… I gotta pick up something. Where are you guys going? I'll join you later." Phoenix said. " Burger Joint!!!" Maya exclaimed. Phoenix sighed but nodded.
Phoenix was about to walk off, but Edgeworth called him. " Wright!! Do you… need a ride?" Edgeworth asked. Phoenix shook his head but smiled before running off.
December 28,
Burger Joint
" Nick!!" Maya exclaimed, waving her hand. Phoenix saw it and walked towards it quickly. " Looks like you're back!!" Lotta said. Phoenix nodded and took a seat beside Edgeworth.
" Soo… what is it Nick?" Larry asked. Phoenix said nothing, but started to eat a burger. " Wri- Phoenix?" Edgeworth asked. Maya, Larry and Gumshoe looked at Edgeworth in surprise.
" It'sapresentformilesandlarry." Phoenix said quickly. Edgeworth sighed then glared, while the others simply stared at him. " Have you not learn English?!" Edgeworth snapped.
" I said, 'It's a present for Miles and Larry.'" Phoenix replied, irritated. " For me? Nick!!" Larry exclaimed. " Miles?" Maya asked. " As in Miles Edgeworth." Phoenix replied. Said person froze.
" Let me guess… Because of that class trial?" Maya said. Phoenix nodded. " But I thought you already paid Mr. Edgeworth back?" Maya said. " What do you mean?" Phoenix asked, clearly confused.
" You defended Mr. Edgeworth." Maya said. Phoenix chuckled. " I was going to give this present in grade school, but somehow, Miles transferred before I even got to give him this. So I kept his and Larry's still now, though I remade Miles' because I wouldn't want him to be on trial for murder again…" Phoenix said.
" Why? I wanna see it!!" Maya exclaimed. " I… er… didn't bring it." Phoenix said. " As a prosecutor, I would see that it is obvious that you are lying, Wright." Edgeworth said. " H- Hey!!" Phoenix exclaimed. " Well, as a defense attorney, I think I have sufficient reasons to lie here." Phoenix retorted.
" Really, and what's that, Phoenix?" Edgeworth asked. "…!" Apparently, the defense attorney was caught off-guard by the sudden change of names. " Well, I just said that!!" Phoenix said, turning his heads away. Phoenix's cell phone rang again. Maya ducked under the table as Phoenix took out his cell phone. Three keychains dropped out.
" H-Hey!!" Phoenix said. He turned his head a little.
" … You know what this means right? I'll do it."
" MAYA!!" Phoenix shouted. Edgeworth glared, hard. " I… er… Have a... new case to take care of… so… er... I'm LEAVING!!" Phoenix yelled.
The defense attorney, Phoenix Wright ran out with a very angry prosecutor, Miles Edgeworth behind him.
The first keychain made for Edgeworth was made with the name…
