Spoiler: If you've seen DTM (and why would you have missed it?!) you're safe.

Disclaimer: Adam Rove, Joan Girardi, Amber Tamblyn, Chris Marquette and Joan of Arcadia aren't mine. Not saying I wouldn't mind owning CM but.. *coughs* That will never happen so..

Summary: Starts right where DTM leaves off. Adam and Joan can finally define their relationship.

Fluff O-Meter: Not as bad as 'Talking', but it's still deeply fluffy

Dedication: To Riskia, my muse, for -finally- coming back from fishing with Colonel O'Neil in Montana.

Author's Notes: Riskia ran away awhile ago. She went to Montana to go fishing with Jack O'Neil of Stargate because Sam wouldn't go with him. Stupid girl, you know you two love each other. But she and Jack were watching JoA, and she decided to come back to New York and reclaim her status in my head as my muse, not as some evil deity trying to get O'Neil's attention. And thus, The Sappiest Adam and Joan Fic Payton Has Ever Written was born. Oh, and for the record, yes, I am clinically insane and my sister is taking care of the arrangement to have me taken away with the nice men in the white coats. I've been trying -really- hard not to scream and squee at the top of my lungs until my parents go to work tomorrow morning, so this should hold me over.

It was better than the first time. Of course it was nearly a proven fact that the second time was always better than the first. Joan felt her heart rate speeding up, and it felt like it was about to jump from her chest any second now. She and Adam slowly broke their kiss and stared at each other. Joan inched closer to him and put her head on his shoulder, as he wrapped his arm around her shoulders.

"So.. You and Iris.." Joan started.

"We broke up during school, when she interrupted us. She said that she knew there was something going on between us," Adam explained.

"I'm sorry-"

"No, don't be Jane. I didn't want to be with Iris. I wanted to be with you. I -want- to be with you," Adam told her, his voice barley audible.

"I want to be with you too Adam," Joan told him, picking her head up off his shoulder and looking at him.

"Do you.. want to do something after school tomorrow?" Adam asked her.

"I'd like that. Under one condition," Joan said.

"What?" Adam asked.

"No more crazy VH-1 specials shirts," Joan told him, giving him a little smile. He returned it.

"Unchallenged," Adam agreed, pulling Joan in for their third kiss, and once again Joan felt her head spinning, like she would pass out right there on the porch. It had taken her five months to figure out what it was that she wanted, but that wasn't a problem anymore. She was there, on her porch wrapped in a blanket with Adam kissing her. And for the first time since Joan had figured out how she truly felt about Adam, she felt complete.
