Andromeda
She never felt quite right,
It was not that she was unhappy,
During the day she laughed with her sisters,
But at night things could get quite bad,
And she was left feeling rather
Inadequate.
/
She never quite possessed the striking curls of her elder sister,
Nor the sleek waterfall of hair that belonged to her younger sister,
Instead, as always, she found herself floating somewhere in the middle,
With hair as dark as her name,
But always that bit too fuzzy, that bit too bland,
Inadequate.
/
She saw him in her potions class for the first time in 6th year,
She was enchanted by the way his chestnut hair always fell over his eyes,
His mesmerising chocolate eyes that she never failed to get lost in,
She did not know him,
Although she knew she was screwed,
And then he smiled.
/
She fell in love with how his eyes would sparkle when he was excited,
The way he would bite his lip when he was confused,
How he said her name, how he kissed her forehead sweetly when they said goodbye,
The way he would slot his fingers into the spaces of her hand when no-one was looking,
So desperately, as if without her he couldn't breathe,
She loved his confidence to be everything she was not.
/
She loved that for the first time in her life she did not feel as she always had,
Inadequate,
Instead she simply felt the way he said she should,
Beautiful.
A/N: Random and strange since I never write poetry but - and I have no idea why - there was something about this and that demanded to be written. I've always loved the relationship between Andromeda/Ted so here's my attempt at capturing it. Thanks for reading and please review/favourite if you enjoy xo (Sorry about the dashes between stanzas by the way, I just couldn't find an alternate way to separate the stanzas for some reason.)
