Diary of a MadMan

Prologue

"Oh god.." I whisper. Why was this happening? What are these things? What's going on! So many questions coursed through my being. Crouching in fear. I peek slightly around the stone pillar I had hidden behind. That Thing! What was it? It's jaw seemed as if it didn't exist! It looked like a failed creation by Frankenstein.. It's body seemed to be sewn together by more threads of mashed flesh. It waddled about, like it's legs were stiff. On his hands... or.. er stumps it looked like small claw like things.

I gasped and ducked back behind the pillar as it turned around. I heard it growl and I panicked. My breathing quickened, and my heart raced. My hands shook uncontrollably, and a ringing started up in my ears. I peeked around the pillar once more, only to see claws slash past my face...

Chapter 1

I don't know how, and I don't know why, but when I awoke, I awoke on the floor. I reconsigned the area I woke up in as the hall right next to the study. I was in Brandenburg Castle. Slowly I arose to my feet, stumbling around to regain my balance. Sunlight streamed desperately through boarded up windows, highlighting dust that floated free through the air. How long had I been out? When did I pass out? I had no Idea how I even got here. I gasped suddenly as a shot of pain passed through my head and bones, I felt myself crumple to the floor, writhing in agony. As quick as it came, the pain was gone, and I carefully crawled to my knee's panting from the sudden onslaught.

I crawled over to a nearby table, using the wobbly structure for support. Slowly pulling myself to my feet, my legs ached terribly, as if I had just ran twelve miles. I looked around, Bricks and Stones protruded from the walls, and what should have been sturdy pillars looked as if they were to topple over at any moment. My hand bumped something and I picked it up. It's was a dark blue vase, gray patterns ran across it. An assortment of dead sticks and cobwebs rested inside it, flies lay dead at the bottom. Unconsciously I flung the old thing from me, barely reacting as it smashed against the wall.

I was in a dizzy haze, barely clinging to conscience. So I shook my had and walked- or more stumbled down the hallway to a light corridor. Knights stood guard at a large door, to many others it looked as if they were inhabited, as if real people rested inside them, however, I knew they were just suits of armor. I limped over to a cracked door and looked in, it was a set of stairs. I started down them, and nearly tripped down the stairs as my foot caught something. It was a small silver cylinder. Reaching down, plucking it from the ground. "Ah! A tinder box!" I gasped. My voice was cracked from lack of use, and it was scratchy, ticking the back of my throat.

Turning the tinderbox in my hand I stuck the useful tool in my pocket. I continued down the stairs and tried the door. It was locked. I had regained my bearings, so I could think much clearer now. I started back up the stairs and into the corridor again. I walked over to the large door, and put my hand on the knob. My memory was still fuzzy, so I had no recollection as to how I got in BreananBurg. Sighing, I opened the door and started down a flight of stairs. The room had grown darker, but as my eyes adjusted to the light I could see pillars broken down and on the floor. Which begs the question again. What happened here?

(Okay, this is my Version of Amnesia, the Dark Decent through Daniel's point of view. It's a really good game! Go check it out.. Careful though, it's a horror genre story, it didn't scare me much, but anyone who is skid-dish I... would watch it with the lights on. So... Auf Weildersteian! ~~~ Kira Steele

PS: Sorry about the German Spelling. I'm still learning. Oh! And Auf Weildersteian means Goodbye. )
