Those that Linger

I was feeling particularly rhyme-y one day, so I wrote this poem. I also post this in honor of a friends birthday.

I'm posting this in honor of my friend The Fighting Temeraire, she celebrated her birthday this month, so Happy Birthday! ^_^

Those that Linger

Elves are the fairest, bows and arrows they carry

Light on their feet and quite extraordinary

Hobbits are playful with the hairiest of feet

Funny little creatures, always wanting to eat

*

Men are troublesome, some wise and some fools

They make and follow and break their own rules

*

Dwarves are a crafty and cantankerous race

Happiest under stone than any other place

*

Wizards of which there are only a few

Are different from the rest and mysterious too

*

And throughout the ages, some came and some went

But none of them lingered, for they are not like we ents
