Gabriella Montez hated the color white.

It was so boring. In fact, she could argue that it wasn't a color at all, just a shade of nothingness. Or an uninteresting shade of blah.

But here she was, wearing this color for a man that would always come second best. Wearing it for a man who she didn't love, who she couldn't love, as much as she loved Troy Bolton.

Troy was her other half. The cheese to her macaroni. But she could never admit that to him. At least, not now. They had been through so much. Troy and her had the weirdest relationship ever known to human kind.

They had started dating junior year in high school. They broke up and made up so many times that their friends lost track. Finally, right before graduation, they broke up for good. They both agreed it was better; that they needed to see what else was out there. After a couple months, however, they were back together, only to break up soon after.

Then, in their senior year in college, Gabriella began seeing a man named Greg Scott. He was good to her, and treated her the way Troy never did. They stayed together the entire year, and Greg proposed right after graduation.

Today was the day. She was getting married.

Her posture stiffened. She took in a deep breath.

It wasn't that she didn't love Greg. She did. Really. But she wasn't in love with him.

Gabriella wanted to cry. This wasn't what she wanted. But it was too late.

"Gabriella?"

Gabriella turned around to see Taylor standing in the doorway. "Are you okay?"

Gabriella let a tear fall. "I don't think I can do it."

The African-American woman walked over to her and put a comforting arm over her shoulder. "It's Troy, isn't it?"

She choked back a sob. "I just can't let go. I don't know why."

Taylor leaned her head on Gabriella's shoulder. "It was a long time ago, honey. You're with Greg now."

Gabriella gave her friend a watery smile. "You're right. Cold feet, I guess."

Taylor smiled back. "Good. Now clean up. It's almost time."

After she left, Gabriella stood in front of the mirror.

She hated that she wasn't marrying Troy. She hated that that her friends didn't get it. But most of all, she hated she was wearing white.

God, she hated white.

A/N: Wow. I really didn't like that. But I hadn't posted anything on 2 months, so I figured I owed it to you. And I didn't center. Too lazy. Haha. But in my next story I will. I promise :) Reviews? Pleeeeease?? Haha. It would be appreciated :)

Love you guys! Thanks for reading!
