"Rosie!" Lily squealed as her cousin came through the fireplace. "To what do we owe the pleasure?"
"Do you think Uncle Harry and Aunt Ginny will let me stay here for a little while?" Rose asked, letting the tears drop from her eyes.
"Of course they will, come on, sit down and tell me what happened," Lily said, the excitement replaced with worry. She led her cousin to a chair, sitting beside her.
"Dad's at it again. Why can he not just accept that I love Scorpius? Every time I come home, he's on my case, dump him, he's no good for you, blah, blah, blah. Mum's tried to tell him that Scorp's nothing like his dad was when they were at school, but dad won't listen. You'd think after two years he'd accept it and move on, but no, of course not, because that would be too bloody easy."
"Aww, Rose, I'll ask dad to talk to Uncle Ron again. Dad's friends with Mr Malfoy now, they meet up for coffee sometimes. If dad can't talk any sense into your dad, then there's something wrong.
"What's Ron done this time," Harry asked, walking into the room with two hot chocolates for the girls. He sat down in the remaining chair, looking at his daughter and niece.
"Dad won't accept that I love Scorp. He keep's on at me about how evil the family is and stuff. I feel like I have to choose between them, and I really don't want to, Uncle Harry. I don't want to lose Daddy, but I love Scorp. We're for keep's."
Rose burst into tears, and Harry got up, pulling her into his arms. It looked like it was time for a talk with Ron.

Ron was tapping his hand on the bar impatiently when Harry arrived, a sure sign that he was still worked up after his argument with his daughter.
Harry ordered a butterbeer as he took the seat beside his angry best friend.
"I know what this is about Harry, but it isn't happening. I'm not going to give in on this."
"Then you're a fool, and you're going to loose your daughter. Is that what you want?"
"What do you mean, I'm going to loose her. Of course I won't, she'll sulk for a while, and then she'll get over him and everything will be alright."
Harry rolled his eyes.
"Rose leaves school this year. She and Scorpius have been together for over two years, I don't see them breaking up anytime soon mate."
"She's too young. It's just a crush."
"Pot, Kettle. You and Hermione were still in school when you got together. I was still in school when I fell in love with Ginny. Teddy and Victoire are engaged. You need to see that if you keep this up, Rose is going to tell you where to take a hike to, and it won't be pleasant. Scorpius is a nice lad, Ron, I don't see what the problem is."
"He's a Malfoy."
"And what? He isn't Draco, nor is he Lucius. Do you know what Rosie said to me before I came here, Ron? 'I feel like I have to choose between them, and I really don't want to, Uncle Harry. I don't want to lose Daddy, but I love Scorp. We're for keep's.' If that doesn't seem to you like you're about to lose your daughter, then you might as well go and check yourself into St Mungo's. Rose is staying with us for the weekend, she'll be home on Monday. You need to sort out your priorities Ron."

Rose flooed into her living room on Monday morning to find both of her parent's waiting for her. Her mum held out her arms and Rose fell into them gratefully, savoring the hug.
"Rosie, I...I'm sorry. Invite Scorpius for Dinner one night this week. I think it's time I met the lad that's stolen my daughter's heart."
As Rose threw her arm's around her father, she missed the small smile and approving nod from her mum, and she missed the lone tear that fell down her dad's face, settling into her hair. Thing's were going to be alright.
