Chapter 1
Betrayal
Disclaimer: I do not own anything except for the plot.
Original A/N: This is my second Kaleido Star story. I hope you all like it. Since, well, I guess, you could kind of say it went well, but anyway...since 'what the future holds' is going so well, I decided to expand my writing flexibility with a drama. Yes, this is another SoraLeon thing, so if you don't like that couple, sorry. Again just please please please comment.
Edit 1/2/2015: It's been a couple of years since I've gotten on fanfiction. Truth be told, I joined when I was really young and these stories were written before I was even a teenager. For some reason, I decided to walk down memory lane and rewatch Kaleido Star over my break this year. It's always been one of my favorite animes because even though there are intended romantic moments, it's more about dreams and taking risks to get to your goal.
I realized that I never finished any of my stories. I also realize now that they were VERY poorly written. While I'm not going to change much of the content (some of it has changed), I'm going to expand some of the concepts and ideas of it. I'm editing all of the chapters to this story because I remember that this story in particular was near and dear to my heart back then. I may not be into this kind of thing anymore, but for those of you who have been touched by this pairing, I thought it deserved to be finished. Bare with me though, because I completely forgot where I was going to go with this story, so let's hope it turns out well! Also, I'm not a writing major, so if my grammar and word choices are poor, sorry not sorry, college hasn't taught me anything.
Chapter 1
Betrayal
It was a rainy day in Cape Mary, which was unusual because rainy days hardly existed in California. Their last show had ended about a month ago, and there was still a month left before their next production was set to begin. Sora's flight had just landed from New York, where she was asked to act as a guest performer for a week. Jerry the policeman picked her up from the airport and dropped her off on Kaleido property. She stopped by Kalos' office to report back on her trip and then made her way back to the dorms. She secretly hoped that Leon would be there to greet her. The two stars had been dating for a little over a year and a half now. The relationship started off slow. Sora could never read the Frenchman and he was never one to express himself much. Over time though, they had grown closer, first as partners, then as a friends, which in turn, led them into a relationship. While complete opposites, they somehow seemed to make things work.
However, lately their relationship had been in turmoil. There were rumors going around that Leon began to go out more, spending more nights at the bars downtown. People began to speculate that he was unfaithful. With Sora being gone a lot for guest appearances at other circuses, they hadn't been able to spend as much time together over the break. The night before she left for New York, they had gotten into a fight and they left on very poor and bitter terms with one another. Leon was upset that Sora always put the stage and performing above him. While she seemed determined to ensure others' happiness, she almost hardly realized the strain it had on her personal relationship. Sora couldn't find it in her to believe the rumors though. While the Frenchman stayed cold and intimidating to many of the cast members, he cared very much about her. They had talked about their future, both as partners and lovers. He couldn't…wouldn't possibly betray her, right? Even if they had ongoing tension between them, he wouldn't do that, would he? Sora sighed at her trail of thoughts as doubt crossed her mind. As she reached her dorm, she had a weird feeling that something was going to happen.
Sora had given Leon a key to her dorm a couple months ago. She took another deep breath, preparing herself before she entered. As she put the key in the doorknob, she realized that it was already unlocked. She slowly turned the knob and there, to her surprise, she found Leon. With May. Under the covers of her bed.
Sora was in disbelief. She was numb - motionless for a couple of seconds. She wasn't even sure if they heard her at the door, but she turned around and walked, no ran, away. She didn't stop. Not even to look back.
Thoughts ran through her mind and twisted all in her head. All the rumors that had been spiraling throughout these past couple of weeks, their fight a week ago, Leon's disapproval of her performing all the time, they had all led up to this. Betrayal.
Sora ran far away – as far away as she could. Once she didn't have the will to go any further, she stopped and gasped for air. She fell to her knees and just started bawling. The thought of them betraying her; the thought that her lover and her rival had an affair ripped through her. Just a few weeks ago he said that he loved her. They may have had theirs ups and downs throughout the last year, but they had always worked things out. But this. This couldn't be worked out. This was the point of no return.

They had just reached their climax. May gasped as her release came and Leon grunted as he let go as well. They laid on the bed for a couple of minutes before getting back up.
May got up to leave. "That was fun," she stated as she put her clothes back on. "If you ever want to do it again, hit me up."
Leon only nodded, blankly staring at the wall. This break wasn't what he had expected it to be. He hardly saw Sora and they weren't getting along like they did before. Everything had been building up inside of him until last night, he finally let go. He had been going out to the bars this past week, only to get himself drunk enough to numb his emotional distress. He had never done anything; he normally just sat by himself at the bar and drank a couple of glasses of wine each night.
Last night was different though. May came up to him earlier in the day and spit out the fact that she had seen him downtown a couple of nights this week. She asked if she could join. He saw no problem with it. She was a coworker of his, after all.
As the night went on, he found himself drinking a lot more than previous nights. This time, mixing different alcohols, as per May's doing. She gave him shot after shot of different liquors. Eventually, he had unwillingly opened up to her about everything. The next thing he knew, she had pressed her lips to his, and the rest of the night was history.
Once they did it, he couldn't stop himself. He had been vulnerable and frustrated, and he knew May still had feelings for him. Leon had reverted back to his old, dark and selfish self for a night and it felt thrilling.
They somehow ended up at Sora's dorm for the night and stayed until morning. After their last sex session, he finally snapped out of his clouded daze only to realize that May was putting her clothes on and getting ready to leave.
"Hey, was this open the whole time," May turned around and looked at Leon. He hazily looked over toward her and the opened door as his eyes widened. He inwardly gasped. Sora.
Though a little hazy on how exactly it went down last night, he knew what he had done and he knew the consequences. He had let himself go and revert back to his cold, womanizing self and in turn, betrayed someone he cared about all because he couldn't keep it in his pants. He had been selfish and May had been willing. He took the bait, and now he prayed that the damage could somehow be undone.

"When will you come back?" Kalos asked, leaning back in his chair.
"I don't know." Sora whispered walking out the door, luggage in hand.
"Will we have to postpone the new show?"
Sora could hardly hold back her tears. "I don't know," she whispered again. At this point, she felt so disconnected. How could she perform on the same stage with two people who had broken her heart? How could she open the audiences' hearts if her own heart was now closed..
Kalos looked at her, seeing the desperation and sadness. "That is fine, Sora."
"Thank you, boss." And with that, she was out the door.
