The Dream…
By HPFangirl71
Hermione Granger saw him standing underneath the Sycamore trees… black robes waving majestically in the autumn breeze. It was a strange yet compelling sensation which drew her to this powerful man. He stirred up haunting emotions within her.
He turned as if moved by her very presence. A smirk of mischief played upon his lips and his eyes beckoned her over to where he stood. She could feel the immense heat between them as his arms encircled her waist.
"Lucius… I missed you." she whispered in his ear.
"I missed you too, my dearest… I only wish we had more time together."
"Leave Narcissa and we'll run away!"
He found it hard to resist the magic of her smile. Her youthful innocence made him wish the path of his life were as simple as she wished it to be. He wanted nothing more than to be with her, but alas… fate wouldn't allow it.
"You know that isn't possible love. This is but a dream… us together, can never happen in the reality of things. It doesn't matter what we want, it can't happen. It's too dangerous…"

"I love you Lucius and no dark mark is going to change that. You made a choice to be a better man when you chose to pursue a relationship with me. The secrecy of our rendezvous' doesn't make them any less remarkable in my heart. Sometimes, dreams do come true."
He let his lips brush softly against hers. His hand pushed back a stray curl and he let out a frustrated sigh.
"I wish I could believe you. Unfortunately, we Malfoys have never been known for believing in lost causes. If only Harry could defeat the Dark Lord then perhaps it could be…"
She smiled up at him reassuringly and then pulled his head down to hers in another searingly hot kiss. As the kiss was about to lead to other things, Lucius woke in a cold sweat. The sheets clinging to his lithe body as he lay beside his wife who was sound asleep. In the darkness, he tried to shake off the images that now replayed within his mind. Shaking his head, he whispered to himself…
"It was only a dream Lucius, get a grip on yourself! Imagine, a pureblood like myself falling for a filthy little muggle!"
But within the dark, his thoughts wandered again to a certain curly-haired vixen…
