When the Sky Fell Away
This story is about an adventure from tragedy to restoration. It's also my version of the story, what if Kirby wasn't the only survivor but one more fighter survived. Who could that one survivor be?
All 74 fighters stood atop a mountain. They looked into the sky where they spot the lord of the light, Galeem and his army of Master Hands. They each were ready to fight off the Master Hands.
Fox McCloud walks closer to the cliff pulls out his blaster, "Don't let a single one get away."
March stands his ground readied to pull his Falchion out, "We each need to take about ten."
Zelda confidence begins to rise, "Stow your fear, it's now or never."
Pit posed a stance, "We'll win this, I know we will."
Galeem begins his reign against the fighters. Everyone knew it was a threat and it must be stopped. However, they did not know about Galeem's true plan to conquer the world. Every Master Hand began to disintegrate into smaller particles and became energy for Galeem's power. The fighters did not expect it to absorb its own army to become more powerful. Once Galeem absorbed every Master Hand, its power grew immensely.
Shulk received a vision from the Monado.
He saw many beams of light emitting from Galeem and it showed everything backward. He saw in order: Dark Pit, Pit, Zelda, Mewtwo, Greninja, Bowser, Pokemon Trainer, Bayonetta, Sonic, Pikachu and the last was Samus. He tried to warn everyone but was speechless to even say, it was too late for everyone to escape.
It was a nightmare to escape, even for himself but he saw only one managed to escape. His name was Kirby. Shulk's vision settled back to normal as he saw Galeem becoming a black hole. Which leads to him sending out the beams. It was too late for Shulk to warn everyone about Galeem's power. Kirby, on the other hand, was already prepared and knew Shulk's incredible powers. He tugged on Shulk's shirt to notify him of the incoming dangers. How did Kirby understand Galeem's true power? Not even Shulk knew himself but he would surely find out at some point. Galeem began to unleash his power against the fighters.
"Kirby?" Shulk was confused in a time like this. Even though Kirby couldn't speak, he grabbed him and took him alongside his warp star. Unfortunately, the weight of Kirby and Shulk combined made the star slower. That was their first problem, escaping from Galeem. Kirby couldn't get the Warp Star to lift off the ground. Shulk had an idea, to reduce his own weight and increasing the speed of the Warp Star. It would cost a lot from his Monado but it was something he must do. Shulk grabbed his Monado and took out his Smash Art for himself to reduce his weight drastically and the Speed Art to amplify the boosting power of the Warp Star. That left only Buster, Jump and Shield Art to remain on the Monado. Shulk foresaw when the beams were coming and attacked each that came his way. Kirby was almost finished fixing up the Warp Star with the Speed Art that Shulk had given him. He blocked the beam heading towards Kirby with his Shield Art but it broke after one use. Another headed towards Kirby, Shulk used Jump Art to grab Kirby and the Warp Star higher up the cliff. Then the Jump Art's power expired and no longer was usable. Shulk was down to his final art, Buster, which another beam came their way. The only thing Shulk had to do, use Buster to stop the beam. He sacrificed his Buster Art to increase his damage against the light, destroying its power as it opposed Galeem strongly somehow. That took his final art away from him and his Monado was empty, only just a powerless sword.
Everyone saw Kirby and Shulk's attempts to escape since which raised their morale. They tried their best to hold off Galeem to at least have some survive.
Galeem's beams were already in range and struck the fighters first being eradicating was Link as he slashed and blocked three attacks before losing balance and getting absorbed.
Samus was the second fighter as she tried to shoot the beams to be proven ineffective.
Zelda used Nayru's Love and Mewtwo used Confusion in an attempt to deflect the beam of light but it pierced through their powers.
Sonic was seen trying to help Pikachu by slowing down to grab him but Pikachu was taken and Sonic was caught in the accident.
It was a chain of tragedies for the fighters. Bayonetta tried to dodge the beams but didn't react fast enough for the second beam. Pokémon Trainer sent out Squirtle, Ivysaur, and Charizard. Each used moves respectively, Water Gun, Solar Beam, and Flamethrower. Bowser used his fire breath but all five of them were eradicated.
Captain Falcon hopped inside his Blue Falcon but was taken over by the beam of light before he could even get in.
Lucario used Double Team to dodge one of the beams with his aura powers and appeared behind Greninja. Unfortunately, Lucario was too slow for the next beam and Greninja jumped into the air. Barely managing to escape the same beam only to be struck by another in the air.
The Inkings tried to hide within their ink but Galeem destroyed the ground beneath them. Falco made an attempt to outrun the light with his Arwing but only to see his fate end the same.
Palutena gave Pit and Dark Pit the Power of Flight and made an attempt to deflect the beam back at Galeem. Palutena then was taken away by the beam, and that same beam knocked Pit and Dark Pit off balance and they were also taken away.
Snake thought it was smart to hide in a box and hope Galeem wouldn't attack him. We already know how that went. Diddy Kong, Rosalina, and Luma flew away as quickly as they could but they were unable to escape the speed of light that chased them. Then there were Wii Fit Trainer, Duck Hunt, and Villager. Wii Fit Trainer was unable to escape at all and just gave in with an exercise pose. Duck was unable to lift Dog off the ground and Villager panicked until they were struck.
All of these unfortunate events had given Kirby enough time to lift off the ground with Shulk aboard. Shulk quickly activated Smash Art to reduce his weight as both remaining fighters were off the grounds. The Speed Art Kirby had installed allowed a quick escape out the world and warped them elsewhere. Shulk saw as his friend's lives were lost in the fight, "I'm sorry, you guys but thanks for helping us out... and thank you, Monado..." Kirby guided the Warp Star to avoid any beams and quickly teleported out before the final beam almost struck them. Galeem didn't care about Kirby or Shulk, he just wanted a world of puppets and fighters to his own use.
There you have it, my own creation if Kirby survived with one other fighter, Shulk using his Monado to escape. I created this story through my own logic after I first saw the trailer months ago. It started when I saw Shulk foreseeing the future and I kinda thought maybe Shulk had a chance. I finished the game on New Years and I was planning on making this a while back but didn't have the time for it yet. Now I do sort of and here are some of my ideas for creating this.
In gameplay, Smash Art actually makes Shulk the lightest character with Pichu being the top lightest character. I explained Jump Art as a quick escape option for Shulk to grab Kirby with. It also improves his airspeed allowing Shulk to land and jump again faster. Shield allows for blocking but only once before breaking. With Buster, it's purple which may also represent "darkness" so it would destroy one beam. Speed is pretty straightforward for its own name and its usage on the Warp Star.
