ok so this is my first fanfic, so be nice please! ok, so this story is based in medival times, when strigoi were rising up and moroi and dhamphirs came together to form an army. Dhamphir Blaire or "Sage" is a nurse/servant or maid. What happens when the son of a powerful moroi falls in love with her, in the middle of a war, and relashonships could be punishable by death. RxR
so this is how war looks like i thought, striding towards my new tent. The smell was horrible, and you could only find a small hint of fresh air if you truly searched, but it was mostly clouded out by smoke and wounds. All around me, people were walking wounded in tents, blood smeared on their clothes, or moaning in pain. It was enough to make a person cry. Those who weren't injured were making a measly meal of oats and bread. Their eyes screamed sleep, and many had bruises or scratches. I pitied them, and I had only been here a few hours.
You better get used to it the small voice in my head whispered. This woul be my life for the next several months, possibly years. I grimaced at the thought of years in this war camp.
Pulling my cloak hood higher to hide my dark curls, I walked between the people, basket full of the few belongings I had. People bumped into me and murmured apologies, but they weren't truely paying attention. It was like being in a camp full of hipnotized people.
With relife filling my head, I finally spotted my tent. it was mall and shabby, but Iit looked of Heaven to my aching feet. I knew work would be in order shorty, and a few moments of spare time was to much to ask, but my body was telling me otherwise.
a short girl of about my age stepped out my tent, followed by another. They stopped and warmed me with tired smiles ,and the shorter one with fair curls stuck to her head in sweat spoke first. "My name is Lalie, and Susanna is over there, or Anna, as she prefers. We share the tent with you, and we guide you around until you grasp the rules of the camp. " She smiled again and walked me into the tent." Your trip must of been tiring." She pointed to a small cot in the corner "'Tis yours. Anna had left to get you a meal. i know 'tis overwhelming at first, but you'll adjust.
i nodded and set my belongings on the cot. It only had a quilt and a book, but it was enough. Laying across the cot was a a corset and a dark brown gown. "'Tis your nursing gown. It lets the men know who you are in case they need any sort of help."
i touched the cloth. It looked a bit large, but it would have to do. Suprisingly, it was soft to the touch. I smiled at Lalie. "Thank you.'Tis lovely"
Anna returned with half a loaf of bread and an apple. I took the food greedily and munched in my apple, listening to Lalie tell me about the camp and its rules.
"...and above all, you must not disturb His Majesty Peter or his son Gabriel, unless 'tis a true emergancy. King Peter does not take kindly to wasting his time. Gabriel is more kind, but the same rules apply for him." I nodded, drinking in all the information she gave me. I could not afford to mess up here.
Anna smiled and spoke for the first time. "You really don't want to get His Majesty started. His fangs make it all the more worse. She smiled and rolled on her back on her cot, staring at the tent ceiling, crunching loudly on her apple.
Lalie rolled her eyes at Anna's comment and turned back towards me. "Take your rest, because tomorrow, your work truely begins."
What do you guys think? Good? Bad? review time!;)
