Hey. This is just something random that came to me in the middle of the night. I'm planning to make it multi-chapter (I think) but I can't guarantee how fast or long the updates will be, as you'll gather from this chapter. Right now, this story doesn't take top priority so I can't say as to when it'll next be updated.

Drums
The cold night air blew in through the open window, playing with the curtains as it rolled through the room, ghosting over the skin of the room's occupants. The moonlight glistened off the sweat rolling down the face of one of the occupants as Kai Hiwatari hissed through his teeth and arched his back up off the bed.
Beside him, totally unaware of the terrors raging inside his lover's mind, Tala Ivanov slept peacefully, red hair sweeping across his face as the night air played with it. Suddenly curling in on himself, Tala keened low in his throat before whimpering in pain, as though he were suddenly feeling the pain of his loved one.
Nails once again dragged up and down his skin as his inner demons lurked in the shadows, watching him as he hissed and writhed in pain. The fire crept ever closer to the bed, daring, before leaping, ensnaring the boy in its passionate hold. The flames licked at the delicate skin greedily, seeping through the pores and mixing with the adrenaline as it raced through his veins.
Following the lead of the fire, other creatures slowly crept forward, reaching out to touch their creator before quickly bringing their dark inky limbs back in. Soon they were smothering him, and the boy twisted and turned beneath them, clawing at his skin in an effort to make them go away. His hands swept through them, not hurting them, as he dragged his nails up his torso, clawing at his neck as he gasped.
However, the creatures were relentless and as more and more joined them, they overpowered the boy. The boy quietened and stilled, skin marred with swelling red lines and red crescents. Trapped inside the power of his nightmare, Kai slept on.
