Ch 3. The picture and "A"
Elizabeth was searching through a messy drawer when she came across an old faded photograph of Jack. The picture was ripped. As she looked at the picture, she realized that she never really paid attention to it. She had thought that the picture had gotten ripped after she took it, but now Elizabeth remembered it was ripped from before. How, was a question Elizabeth had no way of knowing the answer to. In the picture was Jack. Behind him was a house. Out of the corner of her eye, Elizabeth saw a small flash of brown in the picture. When she looked at it, she saw that there was someone standing next to Jack. -Someone that was ripped out of the picture. All Elizabeth could make out was an arm, the flair of a knee length skirt, and a few strands of light brown hair. Enough to let her know that there was a woman in the picture. "who could it be?" she thought. Elizabeth thought of all the women that Jack knew. It didn't take long. Finally Elizabeth could only come up with one answer. She was the second mate aboard Jack's ship for a time. Then she started captaining her own ship. "Anna-Maria!" Elizabeth exclaimed. Jack knew her well, it had to be her! But looking at the picture again, she knew it wasn't Anna-Maria. Anna-Maria had caramel, brown skin. This woman had fair pale skin. Elizabeth decided not to think about it for a while. Then, she put the picture in her pocket and headed to her friend, Angelica's house.
