Etcetera lay on the ground, her arms as far out to the sides as the could possibly be. She was looking at the clouds. Her ears twitched, and she heard footsteps behind her. It wasn't that difficult, seeing as it was fall, and the dead leaves on the ground ruined any attempt at a sneak attack. She sat up, and turned to look behind her. It was Electra. " Come on, Cetty! You promised you would go on a walk with me! "
" Fine, fine, " the lighter colored kit moaned. She pulled herself up from the ground, shaking leaves out of her hair.
They began to walk, talking about whatever came to their minds. About half a mile into the walk, they came across a bench. It looked old and weathered. The both took a seat, and looked up at the trees.
" The trees are really pretty, don't you think, Cetty? " Electra asked her friend.
" Yeah... " Etcetera seemed to be in a daze. Taking notice of this, the darker queen nudged her.
" You alright? You look like you're lost in your mind or something, "
The younger of the two was startled by this. " Oh, yeah, I'm fine- I was just thinking about something important. " She closed her eyes." You know you're my best friend, right, Electra? "
Electra nodded, her eyes wide. She knew it was a serious matter when Etctera called her by her full name. " Of course I do. "
" And I love you more than anything in the world, right? "
Another nod.
" Well, would you still be my friend if I told you that... " she paused for a moment, looking at the ground now instead of the trees. " If I told you that I was in love with you? "
Electra's eyes widened. She hadn't been expecting THAT. It took her a moment to think, even though she knew the answer anyways. " Of course I would- you'll always be my best friend, no matter what. " She sighed heavily, and began to speak again. " Because I need to tell you something, too... "
Etcetera's ears perked up, and she quickly turned to face her friend. Tears had already appeared
in her eyes.
" Etcetera, I- I think I love you, too. " A small smile made its way across her face. and tears picked at the corner of her eyes, as well. Her dark face had a light blush on it. She grabbed Etcetera's hand, and brought it to her face.
" Lect, I-I don't know what to say- "
Electra smiled, and leaned closer, " Then don't say anything. " She closed her eyes. Their lips met, and locked together.
' I never want to pull away, ' Etcetera thought to herself. Her hands were shaking. She was excited- she had never felt so happy in her whole life. Electra ended up being the one to pull away first.
" Cetty, I love you more than anyone else in this whole world. And that will never change. I just wanted to tell you that before we continue. " She leaned in again, repeating the process of the
first kiss.
Leaves fell and danced around the two as they sat there, for what seemed to be forever. The true colors of love were all around them, and they embraced it to the fullest.
