Title: Yellow

Pairing: a bit broken PG X Fi

Prompt: Room covered in splotches of bright yellow paint

For all his diplomacy, and his years in politics Prince Gumball was utterly terrible at speaking to people. Fionna had pressed him for a date again, and he of course denied her, again. When she asked why he wouldn't date her he stupidly blurted out that he didn't like the color of her hair. Which was untrue and also incredibly petty and sort of cruel.

Her face grew red and her eyes shone with unshed tears.

"THAT'S THE ONLY REASON YOU WON'T DATE ME?" She yelled angrily. She shoved him, and hard, then ran away.

"Fionna! Wait!" He tried.

"Stuff it!" She called over her shoulder.

He sighed and slumped into a chair. Why in Gob's name would he insult her hair? The one vanity she had. He was a terrible friend. No, he was a terrible person. He went about his royal business with less fervor than usual and in the morning he almost refused to come out of bed.

Peppermint maid knocked tirelessly on his door. "Your Highness," she trilled, "there is a matter that needs your attention." He grumbled an incoherent reply.

"It is rather urgent." She persisted and Gumball slowly pulled himself out of bed and got dressed. He peaked out into the hall irritation plain on his features.

"What is it?" He snapped.

"It's Fionna, she's painting the whole castle yellow."

Gumball sighed and went back in room calling back to the maid.

"Just let her."
