Authors note: Okay, I LOVE the character Andy and if this happens to her I will cry and be very upset. I just had this idea and knew I needed to write it. I ended up getting my mom's car keys and sprinting out of the store to her car where my notebook was. People glared at me just because I almost ran into them! Sheesh!

Dedication: This is dedicated to my dog Bodhi, because he is cute and I love him. And because he just randomly came over and poked me in the side with his nose and I thought it was sweet.

Disclaimer: I don't own Kyle XY. I wish I did. But I don't.

Broken Soul by Juno227

He was there. He was there when it took a turn for the worse. He was there when the doctor told her, "I'm sorry, there is nothing we can do." He was there when the slow steady beep of the heart monitor turned into a long flat note. He had been there for her, but now she was gone.

She knew she didn't have long left. Her last weeks, he was always there. Always. Sometimes she would wake up in the middle of the night and in the dark she could see him in the dark, asleep in a chair or next to her in her hospital bed. All those weeks in the hospital, she was never alone. He had been there. There to talk to her and make her feel loved.

"Josh," she whispered one day. She was deathly pale, and lying in the hospital bed, with him next to her in an uncomfortable chair, holding her hand. He looked up quickly. "Josh," she continued, "when I'm gone remember the good things. Remember the G- Force and the making out, remember the prom, remember me date training you, remember when you came to my door after you were stood up, remember the woods where we both confessed something big to each other, remember I love you. Josh, don't just remember me. Remember us."

He looked deeply into her eyes and she could see the love and concern for her in them. "I will," He promised, "I will always remember." Two days later they were in the hospital room, Andy lying in bed reading, Josh next to her holding her hand and looking at a magazine. Andy inhaled sharply, causing him to look up quickly. "I love you," She said quietly, as if she knew something was about to happen. "I love you, Josh." He squeezed her hand lightly. "I love you too, Andy." And the beeping had stopped and become one long mournful loud beep, not stretched out as all the other were. A single tear rolled down his cheek as he kissed her cheek and put his head down, still holding her hand.

He did remember. He remembered her and he remembered them, just like he had promised. He remember the good days and the bad. The fights and the love. He remembered how brave she had been, how she had never cried, how she had loved him. How he still loved her. He always would.

There were other things to remember of course. Like her smell, the sound of her laughter. The look in her eyes when she had an idea. Her eyes, how he had loved them. He remembered the way she dressed, the sound of her voice. The way she could make him feel better, the influence she had on him, that didn't go away. Maybe he couldn't have saved her, but he could save others from going through it. He remembered the soft touch of her hand on his, the sweet taste of her lips, and her blush. He remembered so much more.

She completed him. That was the truth. She was his soul mate. The one for him. They fit together well. They balanced each other out. She had been the missing piece of his life. And now she was gone forever. She had left and she had left him a broken soul.
