Title- Someone Like You
By- Claire C. Griffon
Discalimer- I own nothing here. Joss owns all. Although, if I had been the owner, I wouldn't have killed off Wash.
Summary- As Wash is there with a Rever weapon through his body, what's going through his mind?
HERO- 1: Someone who gets other people killed. Ex- The Alliance is a hero. 2: Someone who keeps going even when all hope is lost. Ex- The crew of Serenity are heros. 3: Someone who gives their life in order for others to live. Ex- Wash was a hero after he landed Serenity.
Sighing, Wash released his deathgrip on Serenity's controls. "I am a leaf in the wind," he said in relief. "See how I..." That was as far as he got though. Aharpoon from a Reaver ship suddenly came flying though the window and embedded itself into Wash. Looking down at it, shock filled his eyes. Then disbelief. There was precious little time left for him. Using these last few moments to their fullest, he looked over at his wife Zoe, who was already running towards him. All was moving in slow motion though it seemed. Quietly, he whispered out, "Love...you..." Then he closed his eyes. A thought swam to the front of his mind, begging for it to be heard. I did my part in this Mal. The rest is up to you now, he thought. He tried to voice it, but his mouth would not work at all.
Zoe was at his sinde now, whispering the last words he would ever hear into his ear. "Know what the definition of a hero is? Someone who gives their live so others can live. Someone... someone like you."
Wash could hear her fighting as she was pulled away from him, but nothing registered except for her words. Someone like you. As another barb crashed through the window yet again, a small smile crept across his face. It was the look he wore into eternity.
